Juicy, spicy Adana Kebab! :) We absolutely love it. It's really easy to have a go at making your own at home - with all the trimmings, of course. :)

After a busy May, we're already in full slowdown mode for June with taking the time to cook and have meze and salads in the fridge. Just about to finish off some kızartma (fried aubergines and peppers) tonight - made by Barry last night. :)

Kızartma was one of the first Turkish recipes we ever made. It's a tasty vegan dish that can be served at any time of day.

And look at those beautiful Victorian tiles! 😍
Sometimes, Facebook shows you random posts in your feed that are actually of interest. 😁
For those of you in the northwest of England, this is apparently the last Turkish bath in the northwest and one of only 13 throughout the UK.
It looks like it's hopefully going to be restored. 🥰

The Friends of Carlisle Victorian and Turkish Baths has received a £45,900 grant from the Architectural Heritage Fund to progress plans to reopen the historic James Street site as a health and wellbeing centre 🏛️

The funding will support a full building survey, business plan and conservation appraisal of the Turkish Baths – one of only 13 working Turkish Baths remaining in the UK and the last in the north west of England.

Cumberland Council leader Mark Fryer welcomed the grant as an important step towards securing a sustainable future for the 142-year-old building.

Kicking off June the healthy - and delicious - way! :) If you follow our Instagram / Facebook Stories, you'll have seen that we made a great big bowl of this mung bean salad yesterday.
Just eaten a hefty portion of it with some grilled chicken breast but it's great as a standalone salad, too.
Click the link to get the recipe for this yummy yeşil tabağı (green plate) - packed with loads of nutrients as well as flavour. :)

The beauty of this green mung bean salad recipe is that you can change around the other salad ingredients according to the season.
