We are starting our planning for our 4th grape Harvest and we are opening up the opportunity for local residents to come along and join us!

Last year we had tremendous support locally picking the 5,300kg of grapes and we hope for more of the same this year!

At the moment we can’t be precise when we are looking to harvest the grapes as it depends on the weather over the coming weeks but we do know
- it will be on a weekend
- likely to be 2 or 3 picking days from middle of September to early October
- always relaxed and lots of fun, cake and lunch provided!
- we have had 15 year olds through to 85 year olds helping!

Our vines are loving this warm weather - if you have walked along the public footpath past the vineyard, you will have noticed how they have grown in the last few weeks.

We have one of our regular monthly volunteering working parties this coming Saturday 11th July. If you fancy a few hours helping us try and get the vines back under control please DM us for more info.

Vineyard volunteers

It’s now been nearly 6 years since we started our small vineyard just outside Winford and we’ve been helped by a group of over 100 volunteers in that time.

As the vineyard is now mature, we are looking to keep increasing our group of helpers in 2 ways:

1. We hold monthly volunteer working parties (on weekends) and are looking to add some more volunteers to our group - summer is a really busy time for us alongside other key events such as winter pruning and autumn harvesting. If you want to learn more about these sociable events or just volunteer please drop us an email or DM and one of us can give you a call or reply with answers to any questions - [email protected]

2. PAID HOURS AVAILABLE - Through the busy summer period, we are also looking for someone to help with general agricultural/horticultural tasks, eg strimming, weeding around the vineyard on a paid basis for a few hours a week (day/times flexible). Last summer, we had a couple of students who did a day a week through their summer holidays and it was really helpful. We are still a bit away from releasing our wines (good things come to those who wait!), we hope to be able to announce the first release date towards the end of the summer, however, all helpers do get early access to wines once they become available!
