Not much to report only the raj doot in burpham was as good as ever , got accommodated last minute on a Saturday night warm welcome ordered to much ( as usual ) great onion bhajis ( much prefer round bhajis rather than flat ones )and a lamb tikka massala , very busy with restaurant and takeaway . This one the curry garden in Ripley and ashuka up at merrow must be my 3 favourite curry houses in the area please tell me yours . Food 8 service 8 vibe 8

Finally got a table at Theion Greek restaurant in chapel street Guildford . Great table under the air con upstairs ( looks a bit second class downstairs ) hasn’t changed from the days of loch fyne.Good service already had a drink in the keep pub round the corner so chose a bottle of Greek Rose (£35),for a starter had some tzatziki with the best pitta bread I’ve ever had salty and oily .Ordered the lamb cutlets (£33)my partner ordered a lamb shank it came with no sides so got some baby roast potatoes( £8 ) no vegetables they were another £10 , all absolutely delicious couldn’t fault anything with the food , in conclusion great food and service but very expensive . Food 9 service 9 vibe 9.Let me know your thoughts

Over to my local The Bird in Hand to look at the revamped outside area , always a warm welcome on a hot Thursday evening great new patio area with more tables that before and absolutely packed . Nice cold morretti to peruse the menu our company had a great lamb rump where I chose my favourite fish and chips ( Hake ) fabulous crispy batter excellent (excuse the pic I had already started )for pud a mango Eton mess big portion and tasted great . As always I don’t want to sound biased as a real favourite but great food venue and service as usual . Food 9 service 9 vibe 9

I popped in to a place called Dan's Cafe for a bite to eat yesterday, but was put off by all the non stop Wham and George Michael music and memorabilia, I'm sure it was putting subliminal George Michael lyrics in my head,
I'm never gonna go to Dan's again…

A wet Saturday night and a visit to Versova Indian restaurant in Horsell . Never been before mostly good comments so looking forward to eating and reviewing , a very warm welcome and I immediately noticed this was no ordinary Indian , very smart decor and at 7.00 pm absolutely packed ,poppadoms to nibble these were crisp squares very thin with a tomato chutney , yoghurt and mango chutney I chose Ad-raki lamb chops £22 crispy onion bhajis , pilau rice and a new dish to me Cauliflower Manchurian a spicy deep fried cauli with a sweet and sour sauce , a good portion of everything .All very good if not more expensive and a step away from a traditional Indian restaurant in conclusion I would return but having been used to all the usual Indian dishes that I’ve been eating for years which I probably prefer it will be some time . Food 8 service 8 vibe 8 .

Brunch at Pinnock’s ripley always busy with locals , cyclists and walkers , lovely old building , great choice of coffee all with a strength to suit you . I had an egg mayo bacon and tomato ( it said vine tomatoes on the menu I think they all grow on a vine )focaccia it came with crisps , coleslaw and a small salad £9.50 all good and fresh , no room for a great selection of home made pastries and cakes . Food 8 service 8 vibe 8.

A visit before a show at g live to the Golden Mandarin Guildford . There’s been a Chinese restaurant here for as long as I can remember the current owner Janet has been here over 20 years , a very warm welcome and a selection of dishes chosen crispy chilli beef , beef with peppers and black bean sauce , special fried rice and a chicken chow mein . The food arrived quickly and freshly cooked delicious and a good portion , we left quickly as they were filling up with customers .food 8 service 8 vibe 8 .
