What a beautiful venue - St Marks Church in Westfield. ⛪️

Opposite the Moorcroft Centre, plenty of parking, a clean kitchen, a hall and a beautiful floral garden, St Marks is perfect for an afternoon tea celebration. 🥳

There are lots of chairs and tables and the venue is so easy to access.

This was a fantastic thank you party yesterday for 100 volunteers. Attended by local councillors and our MP, I knew it had to be special. As you can see, I worked very hard.

Everyone left happy and relaxed after cakes, sandwiches, scones and loose leaf tea on vintage china. Could you imagine yourself hosting a party like this? Send me a dm for more information. 🫖 🌺

It’s a quintessential British sandwich enjoyed at Wimbledon Tennis and royal garden parties but is it as popular as we think?

My suggestions for the perfect cucumber sandwich are:

🌸Always butter your bread with salted block butter.

🌸Slice your cucumber as thin as possible

🌸Add fresh mint for a gorgeous and summery flavour.

🌸Cut into rectangles or squares

🌸For heavens sake, take the crusts off your sandwich.

🌸Eat as soon as you’ve cut the crusts.

I am very particular about my afternoon teas and am happy to recommend when I find a great experience or place.

I’ll let you into a secret: just as I recommended in my ‘Tea Pairings’ blog, I had herbal tea with my afternoon tea. It was jasmine and it was so refreshing on a hot day and stopped me from feeling overwhelmed by all the cake on offer. Give it a try. It’s a game changer.
