You couldn’t find her… so here’s the reveal. 👑🐝

A few days ago, we challenged you to spot our virgin queen hiding among thousands of bees.

Nobody found her! 😂

So here she is — the bee marked by the arrow. 👇🐝

She isn’t painted yet, she’s smaller and slimmer than a mature queen, and she moves incredibly quickly. Among this many bees, she’s seriously difficult to pick out.

But what makes her special is what comes next…

She has to leave the safety of the hive on her mating flight, find drones, successfully mate and make it home safely.

If she does, she’ll return ready to lay eggs and become the mother of this colony. 👑

Her biggest adventure is still ahead. 🐝

Did you finally spot her? 👀

Have you ever thought about where your honey actually comes from? 🐝🍯

When you buy honey from a local beekeeper, you’re buying more than just a jar of honey.

You’re supporting a small local business, helping keep beekeeping alive and supporting the bees that play such an important role in our countryside. 🌿🐝

Our honey is produced by our own bees, foraging on the flowers around the Dee Valley, then extracted and bottled by us.

No long journey. No anonymous supply chain. Just local bees, local honey and a beekeeper who knows exactly where it came from. 💛

And honestly… once you taste the difference, it’s hard to go back. 😉

If you love supporting local, we’d love to have you along for the journey. 🐝💛

HERE’S TO BRITISH FARMING 🇬🇧

From the fields that grow our food,
to the livestock on our farms,
to the orchards, market gardens and bees buzzing across our countryside…

British farmers work incredibly hard to put food on our tables. 🌾🐄🐑🐝

And that’s something worth celebrating.

We’re proud to play our small part in that story here at Dee Valley Honey, producing honey right here in Wales.

So whether it’s your local farmer, butcher, baker, grower or beekeeper…

If you can, buy British. Support local. Keep our countryside thriving. 🇬🇧

Here’s to the people who grow it, raise it, tend it and make it.

Here’s to British farming. ❤️🇬🇧

👑 CAN YOU FIND THE QUEEN? 🐝

But this isn’t just any queen…

She’s a virgin queen — and that makes her really difficult to spot.

She’s smaller and slimmer than a mated queen, with a much less developed abdomen, and she’s usually quick and surprisingly elusive on the comb.

So… can you find her? 👀

👇 COMMENT WHERE YOU THINK SHE IS — DON’T CHEAT!

Because this little queen has a LOT riding on her.

She’s never mated.

She needs to successfully leave the hive, find the drones, mate, make it safely home… and then start laying.

If she doesn’t?

This colony has a very different future.

If she does?

She could be the queen that takes this colony through the winter. 🐝❤️

So the story starts here…

Did you find her? 👑

I’ll let you know how she gets on. 👀

Have you ever seen a Queen Bee? 👑🐝

Finding her is always a little bit special…

So we carefully caught her, marked her and got ready to put her back in the hive.

And then… 😳

SHE ESCAPED! 🐝💨

Cue the panic. 😂

Would she find her way back to the hive… or had we just lost the Queen?

What do you think happened? 👇

🐝 500… and then some! 🐝

These two beekeepers in training want to say a massive thank you! ❤️

We set ourselves the little target of reaching 500 followers… and you absolutely smashed it for us! 🙌

Every like, comment, share and message has helped us grow this little community around our bees, our honey and everything that comes with keeping them.

We genuinely appreciate every single one of you. 🐝🍯

And while we’re talking about beekeepers in training… we can highly recommend Quince Honey Farm in Devon. The girls absolutely loved getting up close to the bees and learning more about beekeeping. 🐝❤️

500 was the target… now let’s see where this journey takes us!

And while we’re here — what should we show you next? Dee Valley Honey Co👀🐝

🍯🐝 A little favour…

Dee Valley Honey Co. is nearly at 500 followers!

Honestly, when we started this little venture, I didn’t expect the page to grow as quickly as it has — especially completely organically.

We’ve had loads of people following along with the bees, the honey, the successes (and the occasional disasters 😂) and it’s been brilliant seeing people take an interest in what we’re doing.

We’re getting really close to that 500 milestone, so if you know someone who might enjoy a bit of beekeeping, local honey and seeing what goes on behind the scenes, I’d really appreciate you sharing the page with them. Dee Valley Honey Co

Let’s see if we can get it over 500! 🙌

And genuinely, thank you to everyone who’s supported us so far — whether that’s through following, liking, commenting, sharing or buying a jar. It really does make a difference to a little local business like ours. ❤️
