If you intend to do vegetable farming (or farming in general. I mention vegetable farming because that’s my focus now), and do very well, don’t treat it like some casual thing.

Farming is a science. It must be done intentionally. Get the right hands, employ the right systems and put solid structures in place - good results don’t come by chance, consistently.

It’s either you are very present yourself or employ individuals who uphold the best of work ethics and treat it like their very own.

There is a lot we have learnt on this path. And there is more to learn, we believe. Stay tuned. We shall be unraveling the lessons and learning

Farming is profitable. Agriculture is a great wealth creation channel. These are true assertions only and only if you treat it like a business - with systems and structures. Also, when we think of farming, we mostly think of being in the bush and sweating. Farming has evolved. And that is why nations with no better conditions than we have are taking over the industry.

Our problem is we treat farming like it’s one simple area and no expertise or strategy is needed to succeed. Among other factors, one major factor that contributes to post harvest losses in Ghana and Africa is lack of market access. Someone might interpret this as “no market” but “lack of market access” is different from “no market”.

When we decided to venture into agriculture, we thought of doing strictly demand-driven agriculture and it has been awesome. We source and establish offtake agreements with individuals and entities so we know exactly where our produce is going before production.

This has helped us get enormous support from investors to expand what we do. We continue to find solutions that make farming and agribusiness more profitable and sustainable.
