Sacmack Farms

Sacmack Farms Welcome to Sacmark Farms. We grow crops, raise animals, and farm fish with care, producing fresh, high-quality food.

We add value through processing and rent out modern agritech machinery to help farmers grow smarter, not harder. At Sacmark Farms, agriculture is more than planting and harvesting; it’s a pathway to sustainable growth, community empowerment, and food security. Our 30-acre farm is located in Jeduako, Ashanti Region, in Ghana.
1. We cultivate a wide range of nutritious crops, including maize, cassav

a, yams, plantain, millet, fonio, and vegetables, all grown responsibly for healthy living.
2. Our aquaculture produces fresh catfish and tilapia, while our livestock operations raise goats and poultry with care.
3. We go beyond farming by adding value through agro-processing, like gari production and offering agritech machinery rentals to support fellow farmers. Our mission is to produce and market high-quality food in sufficient quantities, ensuring profitability for our team and long-term financial security for our families. Our vision is bold, and that is to create economic opportunity through a diversified, sustainable agricultural sector that enhances income, nutrition, and resilience across our community and beyond.

Know this before you use fertilisers on your Farm

Fertilisers play a vital role in improving soil fertility and boosting crop production, but their effectiveness depends on how and when they are used. Applying fertilisers the right way ensures healthy crops, better yields, and long-term soil health.

1. Know Your Soil

Before applying fertiliser, it’s important to understand your soil. Soil testing helps determine what nutrients are lacking, so you can apply the right type and amount of fertiliser.

2. Choose the Right Fertiliser

Different crops require different nutrients.

Nitrogen (N) promotes leafy growth
Phosphorus (P) supports root development
Potassium (K) improves overall plant strength

Using the right fertiliser ensures crops get exactly what they need.

3. Apply at the Right Time

Timing is key. Fertilisers should be applied:

During planting
At early growth stages
Before flowering or fruiting

Applying too early or too late can reduce effectiveness.

4. Use the Right Method

Proper application methods improve efficiency:

Broadcasting for large areas
Band placement near roots for better absorption
Foliar feeding for quick nutrient uptake
5. Consider Weather Conditions

Avoid applying fertilisers just before heavy rains, as nutrients can be washed away. Apply when the soil has adequate moisture for better absorption.

6. Use the Right Quantity

Overuse can damage crops and soil, while underuse limits growth. Always apply fertilisers in recommended amounts to avoid waste and harm.

7. Combine with Organic Practices

For sustainable farming, combine fertilisers with:

Compost
Manure
Crop rotation

This improves soil structure and long-term productivity.

Final Thought

Effective fertiliser use is about balance and precision. When used correctly, fertilisers can transform a farm, increasing productivity while maintaining healthy soil for future generations.
