FROM OUR FARMS TO THE ROOTBARK — THE IBOGA HARVESTING PROCESS 🌱

Every batch begins at the farm.

In this video, we’re giving you a glimpse into how we harvest Iboga rootbark at ANP Farms. From carefully removing mature plants from the soil, to separating and cleaning the roots, and finally preparing the rootbark, every stage is handled with care.

Our focus is on maintaining traceability from the farm to the finished raw material, while following proper handling practices throughout the harvesting process.

This is more than just harvesting — it is the beginning of a carefully managed journey:

🌱 Cultivation → Harvesting → Root Preparation → Drying → Processing

At African Natural Products (ANP Farms), we are committed to developing sustainable botanical production in Ghana and supplying quality plant materials to qualified buyers and business partners.

From Amber Extract to Refined Ibogaine Base: Inside the ANP Farms Laboratory

There is a fascinating stage in botanical processing where science and nature come together. Inside the ANP Farms laboratory, one of the key stages in our production process is the separation and refinement of ibogaine base from botanical extracts.

If you have ever wondered how a deeply coloured plant extract can be transformed into a more refined and quality-controlled material, the answer lies in carefully controlled laboratory processing and precipitation.

The Chemistry in Motion

The process begins with a botanical extract in solution. At this stage, the liquid has a deep amber colour, reflecting the natural plant compounds present in the raw material.

As the extract undergoes controlled chemical treatment, its properties change and the solution gradually begins to form a visible precipitate. The transformation can be clearly observed as the darker liquid gives way to the formation of a lighter, solid material.

This stage represents an important transition in the production process, as the target alkaloid is separated from much of the surrounding liquid and concentrated into a more refined form.

Why This Stage Matters at ANP Farms

For us, this is more than just an interesting laboratory reaction. It is an important part of our quality-control process.

Careful separation and purification help our technical team work toward consistent batches and reduce unwanted plant-derived materials and other impurities.

Our focus is on:

Purity: Maintaining a controlled process that supports the production of refined material.

Consistency: Applying standardized procedures to help ensure batch-to-batch consistency.

Quality Control: Monitoring each stage of production to maintain our established quality standards.

Transparency: Showing how botanical materials move through our processing stages and demonstrating the connection between natural resources and laboratory science.

At ANP Farms, we continue to combine botanical sourcing, agricultural production, and laboratory expertise to develop quality-controlled products for our customers and partners.

Mastering Quality: Inside ANP Farms’ Voacanga Rootbark Processing

At ANP Farms, quality begins from the very first stage of processing. We believe that producing high-quality botanical materials requires careful attention to every step, from harvesting and cleaning to drying and preparation for milling.

Today, we’re giving you a closer look at how our harvested Voacanga rootbark chips are carefully prepared before they move on to the milling stage.

1. Thorough Washing & Rinsing

After harvesting, the Voacanga rootbark chips are carefully washed to remove soil, dirt, and other unwanted materials. Our team manually cleans the chips using clean water, washing baskets, and basins to ensure the material is properly prepared for the next stage.

Starting with clean raw material is an important part of maintaining consistency throughout the processing process.

2. Open-Air Sun Drying

Once the chips have been thoroughly washed, they are transferred outdoors for drying. The rootbark chips are spread out in thin, even layers on heavy-duty tarpaulins, allowing maximum exposure to natural sunlight and airflow.

This helps gradually reduce moisture in the material before milling.

3. Regular Turning & Aeration

The drying process requires continuous attention. The chips are regularly turned and stirred to promote even drying and prevent moisture from remaining in certain areas of the batch.

Achieving sufficiently low moisture levels helps ensure that the material is properly prepared for milling and can be processed into a fine, consistent powder.

Quality Starts at the Source

At ANP Farms, we remain committed to careful handling and consistent processing of our botanical materials. From the farm to our processing facilities, each stage receives attention to help maintain the quality and consistency of our products.

Enhancing Our Production Capacity at ANP Farms

At ANP Farms, we are continuously investing in better equipment and technology to improve our production processes.

Our new filtration machine is currently being installed and fine-tuned, and very soon it will be fully operational. This new equipment will significantly improve our ability to filter larger quantities of VTA (Voacanga Total Alkaloids) and enhance efficiency throughout our production process.

This is another important step in our commitment to building stronger production capacity and serving our customers more efficiently.

We look forward to putting the machine into full operation and taking our production capabilities to the next level.

From Nursery to Farm: How ANP Farms Nurtures Our Iboga Seedlings 🌱

At ANP Farms, every healthy Iboga plant begins with careful attention from the earliest stage of growth.

Before our Iboga seedlings are transplanted into our farms, they are first nurtured in our nursery environment. The young seedlings are placed in individual growing containers with suitable soil and given the care they need to establish strong roots and develop into healthy young plants.

This nursery stage allows us to closely monitor the seedlings as they grow. We pay attention to their development and ensure they are given the appropriate conditions before they are ready for transplantation.

Once the seedlings have developed sufficiently, they can be carefully transferred from the nursery to our farms, where they continue their growth as part of our cultivated Iboga plants.

For us, cultivation is about more than simply planting. It is about building a consistent and traceable process from the earliest stage of the plant’s development through to cultivation and harvesting.
