What does a Ghanaian plate look like to you?

Everybody's answer is different and everybody is convinced theirs is correct. Jollof with the smoky bottom. Waakye with everything on it. Fried rice at a party. Plain rice and hot stew on a Tuesday.

Tomorrow Ghana marks Founders' Day. For us it is not an abstract date. Our facility is in Tema. Our workforce is Ghanaian. Our customers are the households, chop bars, caterers and depots that have kept this business running for over three decades.

Tomorrow we are asking that question properly, and there is something in it for the plates we love most.

Be here in the morning.

Sometimes the product is the whole post.

Daibon Vietnamese long-grain. Elongated grain, exceptionally low starch release, DNA-tested at origin and independently inspected at destination.

This is why it does not clump. Not a technique — a grain.

Available in 1kg, and 5x5kg.

Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools reopen across Ghana today.

Behind every one of them is a kitchen that has to feed several hundred students, three times a day, on a fixed budget, for an entire term. There is no room in that operation for a sack that cooks inconsistently.

Daibon Vietnamese long-grain is our workhorse for institutional catering: exceptional starch separation, dependable at volume, and supplied in 5x5kg sacks with term-length arrangements available.

And if you are packing a box today — you already know the rice is the item that gets shared, borrowed and quietly stolen. Send them with something worth defending.

If you supply or cater for a boarding school, our sales desk can quote you today.

For a household, certification is reassurance. For a business, it is risk management.

Every variety in the CIC portfolio — Riz Mimo, Fragrant Rice and Daibon — is independently analysed and certified by Bureau Veritas, a globally recognised inspection and certification body, and operates in alignment with international CODEX food standards. All three carry full Food and Drugs Authority registration in Ghana.

For a caterer, a restaurant group or a depot, that chain of verification is what stands behind every plate you serve and every bag you resell. It is documentation you can point to.

Rice storage in Ghanaian humidity — the three rules.

1. AIRTIGHT, ALWAYS. Get it out of the opened bag and into a sealed container the day you open it. Humidity is what invites weevils.

2. COOL AND DARK. Not above the stove, not in direct sun. Heat degrades aroma faster than time does.

3. DRY BAY LEAVES OR CLOVES. Two or three in the container. Natural deterrent, no chemicals near your food.

A 5kg bag stored properly keeps its quality for months. Stored badly, weeks.

Save this one.

The hardest part of running a food business in Ghana is not cooking. It is knowing that what you ordered will actually arrive.

Cereal Investments Company Ghana Ltd. operates a state of the art warehouse facility at Sanyo Road, Heavy Industrial Area, Tema — managed one hundred per cent by Ghanaian staff and operating in full compliance with fiscal, customs and labour regulation.

Our capacity is why we can hold stock across all three varieties through the year rather than only when the market is easy. For supermarkets, depots, restaurant groups and caterers, that is the difference between a supplier and a supply chain.

You can smell this one through the screen.

Riz Mimo — grown in northeastern Thailand, natural jasmine aroma, DNA-tested purity, imported pure from origin.

That scent when the lid comes off is not added. It is the grain.

Basic schools across Ghana reopened this week for the 2026/2027 academic year, and with them, hundreds of school kitchens went back to full capacity.

If you cater for a school, a canteen or a feeding programme, consistency is not a preference — it is a requirement. Every pot has to come out the same, every day, for a full term.

CIC Fragrant Rice is built for exactly that: certified aromatic quality, reliable grain performance at volume, Bureau Veritas certified and fully FDA Ghana registered. Available in 5kg, 5x5kg master bags and bulk formats for institutional buyers.

Stop pouring your rice water down the drain.

Four things it is actually good for:

1. WATER YOUR PLANTS — the starch feeds soil microbes. Let it cool first.
2. THICKEN A SOUP OR STEW — a few spoons in place of flour, no lumps.
3. SOAK YOUR POTS — starch lifts burnt residue better than scrubbing does.
4. NATURAL SKIN HYDRATOR & TONER: a soothing facial toner that cools irritated skin, helps tighten pores, and restores a natural glow.

One rinse, four uses. Our grandmothers knew.

Save this. And tell us what else you use yours for.
