Once a friend of mine who has been interested in gardening asked me about my choice of plants I grew in the garden. He asked why did I choose pepper over of onion?

I tried to make answer as simply as possible.

Firstly, about 90-96% of women gardeners grow onions and more of them ripe together which affect the market.

Secondly, you harvest onions once and you are done which peppers can be harvested in badgies and on weekly basis.

Thirdly, storage when the market doesn’t favor you storing onions can be challenging while pepper can be dried and stored for almost a year without spoiling.

Fourthly and finally, caring for onions during hot summer isnt for the weak.

There are various reasons for one to choose either of the two.

They fail because they quit earlier than anticipated.

While some are busy planning, and waiting for “the right time, someone is out there learning the harder and more practical way.

With patience, discipline and positive mindset things might change positively, stay consistent when it’s quiet, no applause, no recognition…
