🏃🏻‍♀️Can’t let 2025 pass without shouting out this wild decision to run a marathon!

🫩 A year of less drinking (thanks, day job grind) meant more time for exercise—though clearly not *enough* to properly train for 42km.

🍷But I pushed through for Alex’s birthday, and wow, what a journey. The last 5km under that brutal 30-degree sun with depleted water stations? Pure torture. But also pure magic—tested my physical limits, my mental resilience, and definitely my wine tolerance.

❤️ Massive thanks to Alex for this insane idea, for organizing it all, for bringing the laughs, and my ride-or-die who trained (and whined/wined) every step of the way. You made it unforgettable. ❤️

🏔️Nestled high in the mystical mountains of Yunnan in China, **Shangri-La Sacred Land Winery** aspires to craft wines as breathtaking as its surroundings. At elevations of 1,700–3,000 meters, this pioneering estate harnesses pure Himalayan air, irrigated by glacier water, diverse soils, and dramatic temperature swings to produce elegant, expressive Bordeaux varietals. Working hand in hand with local Tibetan communities, the winery blends tradition with innovation, creating wines that truly capture the spirit of Shangri-La.

🍷Grateful to meet the winemaker and team for a guided tasting of their first five vintages (2016–2020), all double-decanted three hours ahead. I preferred the mature 2016 and 2017 pure Cabernet Sauvignon—softer tannins, violets, toast, oak, and dark cherry aromas. The 2019 and 2020 blends (90% Cab Sauv, Cab Franc) show great progress: intense, ripe cherry, raisin, and chocolate notes, with oak aged at different toasting levels for added roundness and restrained oak influence.

🤍Oh their white chardonnay is also great (with just 5000 bottles of production shhh)!



🏔️隱身喺神秘嘅中國雲南高山上,**香格里拉聖域酒莊**想釀出媲美四周景色令人嘆為觀止嘅美酒。酒莊坐落喺1700到3000米海拔,吸收住純淨嘅喜馬拉雅山空氣、雪山泉水灌溉、土壤多樣性同極大溫差,釀出好有層次、有個性嘅波爾多品種葡萄酒。佢哋仲同當地藏族社區一齊合作,將傳統同創新完美融和,啲酒名副其實係天、地、人嘅結合。

🍷好榮幸可以同釀酒師同團隊一齊試飲佢哋頭五個年份(2016至2020年)嘅作品,全部都提前三個鐘雙重醒酒!我自己最鐘意成熟啲嘅2016同2017年純赤霞珠,單寧柔和,帶有紫羅蘭、烤麵包、橡木同黑櫻桃嘅香氣。至於2019同2020年(超過九成赤霞珠,少量品麗弗)混釀,酒質進步好明顯——果味勁濃郁,有熟櫻桃、提子乾同朱古力味,仲用咗唔同烘烤程度嘅橡木桶陳釀,令酒身更圓滑,橡木味又唔會太霸道。

🤍佢哋嘅霞多麗白酒都好正,限量生產得五千支咋,唔好錯過呀!

🍾 Gosset Champagne Rose Brut NV is made with a unique blend of 58% chardonnay, 42% pinot noir including 8% red wine! Hence the bright acidity and lovely salmon pink colour!

🍷Chateau Branaire-Ducru St Julien 4eme Cru aged for 11 years is showing a lot of maturity, no decanting needed, opening in the glass in an hour, violets, black cherry, liquorice, earthiness, perfect with my steak and even with the seared tuna!

🎉 Seña 2022 Vintage Release!

🥇Seña being the “sign” (in Spanish) to the world as Chile’s first icon wine obtaining international acclamation doesn’t need much introduction. It is a unique Bordeaux-style red blend with a very Chilean soul given by its Carmenere variety, grown under biodynamic principles in the Aconcagua Valley.

🆕After the wonderful Berlin Tasting Anniversary event earlier this year sipping through the development of Seña with vintages 1998, 2009, 2015 and 2021, I am excited to taste this latest release of 2022. Higher % of Cab Sau of 60% while lower proportion of Carmenere 9%, the wine has concentrated black plums, blueberries, typical lavender floral notes of Seña, sweet spices and graphite notes. Love its mouth watering acidity and fine-grained tannins that will allow the wine to age with grace.

👩🏻‍🌾Established in 1997 with the assistance of Bordeaux oenologist Denis Boubals and took over by Judy Chan when she as 24 in 2002, the Grace Vineyard winery quickly became one of the top brands in China. The flagship wine “Deep Blue” is named after the famous book “Blue Ocean Strategy” when she took the courage and challenge to sail through this new establishing wine industry in China.

🍷Blessed with the continental climate with large diurnal range in Shanxi and Ningxia, grapes ripen slowly to make wines that are ripe, fruity blackberry, red cherry, oak spices (16months in various ages of French oak), vanilla, with fresh acidity and round tannins.

👩🏻‍🌾怡園酒莊於 1997 年在波爾多釀酒師 Denis Boubals 的協助下成立,並於 2002 年由 24 歲的陳芳接管,迅速成為中國頂級品牌之一。主打酒「深藍」得名於名著《藍海戰略》,就如她在中國新興葡萄酒產業中勇於挑戰、勇於航行。

六月嘅一個星期一晚上,我係Mato同Wallace講好耐冇做過Service,手痕,佢就話好呀嚟啦搵晚平時冇咁多人嚟做啊!我以為佢講吓笑,點知第二日真係Text問我係咪認真!
我膽粗粗就話係,但其實內心無限掙扎同淆底覺得自己其實咩新鮮蘿蔔皮,有咩可能係Mato serve酒?

喺揀酒嘅過程,開頭諗係咪要一個theme,但我個人咁大愛就真係咩都鍾意飲,所以就set咗Zita’s fav wines,到後尾好想用酒去講我喺酒嘅經歷同故事包括一間我喺意大利做過暑期工嘅酒莊嘅OnePio Amarone。

多謝mato比呢個平台我,亦好多謝所有朋友過嚟支持同比時間出嚟聽我亂噏嘢。知道嗰日好多等候嘅時間,多謝你哋咁包容!

我嘅一句隨便講話好耐無做過service手痕,換來 嘅信任, 嘅支持,一個好難忘嘅guest shift晚上(只欠那個耳機😅)I can’t thank this team enough for putting up with a layman with such crazy idea!

🐴Pegasus Bay Pinot Noir 2013 Aged Release

🍷People who know me know I like more aged and mature wines. And Pegasus Bay from New Zealand has since 2006 started this “Aged Release” project for their Pinot Noir and Riesling, perfectly suiting my palate. Holding back a small batch of their wines for 10 years, allowing them to reach maturity before releasing them to the market. Sweet ripe strawberries, dark cherries, dried roses, some clove and barrel spices from 18 months barrel aging with 30% new oak, and earthiness from the bottle maturation. Yummmmm

⏳Aged Release is time, money and patience - an investment like all parents do for their kids (making it a perfect Fathers’ Day gift! - last minute gift idea if you haven’t already got one lol)

🍷識我嘅人都知我鍾意飲啲較成熟嘅酒。而紐西蘭Pegasus Bay就剛好由2006年開始佢哋嘅“Aged Release”計劃,將少量嘅pinot noir同riesling陳年10年,等佢哋成熟先推出市場。熟士多啤梨、車厘子、乾玫瑰花瓣、丁香、經過18個月木桶(30%新桶)嘅木桶香料味道、一啲陳年咗嘅泥土味。好飲!

⏳Aged Release考驗耐性,係時間同金錢嘅投資,就好似每個父母對佢嘅子女一樣(如果父親節未買禮物嘅可以不妨考慮吓!)
