Based in Mercurey, Domaine Bruno Lorenzon stands as one of the most uncompromising, detail-obsessed estates in all of Burgundy. Having taken over his family’s 10-hectare domain in Mercurey in 1997 after a successful career as an international cooperage consultant and winemaker across the globe, Bruno Lorenzon brought a revolutionary mindset back to his native terroir. His background in cooperage (tonnellerie) gives him a unique mastery over wood integration—he personally selects, dries, and crafts his own barrels to ensure the oak frames the fruit with absolute transparency.
"Bruno Lorenzon’s exceptional wines continue to expand the parameters of the possible in the Côte Chalonnaise, shattering the glass ceiling that’s typically imposed upon the wines of Mercurey." — William Kelley
🤍 The White Icon: Mercurey 1er Cru "En Croichot" Blanc 2022
Perched on a stony, limestone-rich slope, "En Croichot" yields a Chardonnay of incredible electric tension. The 2022 expression offers an exquisite nose of crisp orchard fruit, white peach, crushed chalk, and citrus zest. On the palate, it delivers a thrilling combination of weightless concentration, laser-like acidity, and a long, mouthwatering saline grip on the finish.
❤️ The Red Benchmark: Mercurey 1er Cru "Les Champs Martin" Rouge 2022
"Les Champs Martin" is one of Mercurey's premier vineyards, benefiting from full south-facing sun exposure and high-density vines. The 2022 iteration bursts out of the glass with vibrant aromas of ripe red cherries, wild raspberries, rose petals, and subtle exotic spices. It is medium- to full-bodied, texturally silky, and packed with a dense core of succulent fruit framed by sweet, chalky tannins.
