本坊酒造於1872年成立，及後在1918年開始日本燒酒製造。

岩井喜一郎於1945年加入本坊酒造及建立「MAR WHISKY 蒸餾廠」Mars Whisky 製造出的威士忌被評價為比蘇格蘭威士忌更出色，在日本被認定為威士忌中的「寶石」。



本坊酒造的威士忌蒸餾所有兩個,分別為MARS WHISKY 蒸餾所位於鹿兒島（1945年成立)，及位於信州的Mars Shinshu蒸餾廠( 1985 年成立)。

Mars Whisky 所製造出的威士忌贏得多個獎項,包括2013年WORLD WHISKY AWARD BLENDED MALT

Mars whisky is releasing a three-bottle set of single malt whisky , "Komagatake", "Tsunuki" and "YA" in collaboration with Singaporean Illustrator, Lee Xin Li to commemorate SG60. Each bottle features artwork inspired by Lee's piece “In Our Time,” capturing the rich history, architecture, culture, and daily life of Singapore.

This rare and limited-edition collector's item is currently available exclusively in Hong Kong at AF Trade Shop!!

1. MARS, Single Malt Whisky, Komagatake 2018 Bourbon Cask , Cask Strength (62% ABV)

Classic expression of “clean and rich” signature style from Komagtake Distillery. Non-peated.

2. MARS, Single Malt Whisky, Tsunuki 2020 Oloroso Sherry Cask , Cask Strength (58% ABV)

Dark colour and powerful, spicy expression from Tsunuki Distillery. Non-peated.

3. MARS, Single Malt Whisky, Tsuniki-Yakushima Aging 2020 PX Cask #2336, Cask Strength (58% ABV)

Deep & Energetic notes from Tsunuki backbone, enhanced by tropical & salty ageing environment of Yakushima Island.

🏆🏆🏆 WWA 2025 BEST JAPANESE SINGLE MALT WINNER 🏆🏆🏆

Single Malt Tsunuki 2024 Edition“ won the ”Best in Category, Gold Award" at the World Whisky Awards (WWA) 2025, a global whisky competition held in London, England.

In addition, the “Best Japanese Single Malt” award, the “highest evaluation” on behalf of Japanese single malt whisky, was given to the company's whisky.

This is the seventh time that Hombo Shuzo has won the “Best Japanese” award, and the first time in the “Single Malt” category.

Flavors of dried leafy nuances and soupiness. Rich and balanced with flavors of caramel, smoke, persimmon, fruit compote and oak.
