Just like us, lobsters are prone to getting sick and stressed, despite not having to face the daily struggles of mankind.
However, for lobsters, nature itself is its number one enemy, so, at A Lobster Farm, we do our best to keep them healthy and stress-free. How? Glad you asked.
To keep the lobsters healthy, we make sure that we feed them a balanced and nutritious diet. To be fair, what we feed the lobsters also affects the taste of its meat, so, feeding is one of the most important parts of the lobsters’ care. Secondly, keeping lobsters so close together means that disease may spread faster. So, we have to constantly be on the lookout for any signs of disease. However, lobsters know how to isolate themselves from those that are sick, keeping the spread of the disease in check.
Keeping the lobsters stress-free takes more than teaching them how to meditate. In fact, lobsters are more shy than we would think. They like shelters, natural or artificial, to protect themselves from the weather or possible predators. A lobster in the open is a lobster in the oven, so they’d quickly get stressed out from the exposure. At the Farm, we provide them with a good amount of shelter, keeping them snug and safe.
