Let’s start the Bali posts with a restaurant we went to for dinner while we were shopping at Living World Denpasar (this mall is a must go for all the foodies out there!). This restaurant serves delicious authentic Indonesian dishes in a cozy atmosphere.
We had the following dishes in order of the pictures:
Bakso Gurami (Meatballs, green vegetables, rice noodles, celery, wonton crackers, tomato, fried onions and sambal)
Gurami Asam Manis (Deep Fried Fish gurame with sweet & sour sauce)
Gurami Santan Kemangi (Deep Fried Fish gurame with coconut milk & basil sauce)
Cap Cay Seafood (Stir Fried mixed vegetables with shrimp & squid)
Cumi Asam Manis (Sweet and sour squid served with traditional seasoning) **SPICY**
Udang Bakar Oles (Grilled prawns with glaze served with spicy fried chili, raw chili sauce and traditional seasoning)
Kerang Bakar Oles (Grilled glazed clams served with traditional seasoning)
Sapo Tahu (Stir Fried mixed vegetables with egg tofu)
Ice Teler Durian (A shaved ice dessert with durian, avocado, sugar palm fruit, jackfruit. Served with coconut milk, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with condensed milk.)
All the dishes had a punch of flavor and represented a wide array of Indonesian flavors. Flavors that reminded me of home. And let me tell you, when they say it’s spicy, it’s ACTUALLY spicy! I’d definitely come back for the squid, coconut milk fried fish and the durian dessert.
Thank you for having us . We hope to dine with you again really soon!
