What a gorgeous morning at Cherry Orchard juniors — the kind of day where the energy is bright, the smiles are big, and the juniors remind us all why Sunday is the best day of the week.
🥇 Our speedy stars
Ollie kicked things off in style, storming home first finisher with a new PB — brilliant running.
Reyna was our first girl today, powering through with great determination.
Lena, Aida, Grace, and Sadie all showed fantastic effort and teamwork out on the course.
Jan kept the pace strong in the JM10 category with a shiny PB.
And to Matylda, completing her first ever junior parkrun — we hope to see you again next week!
Every single junior brought enthusiasm, courage, and that signature Cherry Orchard spirit.

A video of two halves, first half is back in March 2023 and the second half was last Sunday. All grown up and still part of our wonderful setup in Cherry Orchard. Even our junior parkrun song has matured. Join us this Sunday and be part of our history when the wonderful Aunty Ann will be your Run Director.

Cherry Orchard junior parkrun – Run Report #229

What a morning at Cherry Orchard junior parkrun! 🌳🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

There were 18 brilliant finishers today, and they certainly brought the speed, the smiles and, in some cases, the ability to make the finish funnel look like a Formula 1 pit stop! 🏎️💨

🥇 Jacob was first across the line in 8:40, followed closely by Annabelle in 8:57. Hubert had a fantastic run too, grabbing a brand-new PB of 10:31!

There were PBs flying everywhere today. 🎉 Congratulations to Amelia, Hubert and Jan B, on their speedy efforts.

A special welcome to our first timers Dylan and Jp. We hope you enjoyed your first junior parkrun and weren't too shocked when you discovered that running around a park on a Sunday morning is apparently something people do for fun! 😂

🏅 Milestone madness! and a massive thank you to our wonderful volunteers. ❤️

A big shout-out to Rob K, our Run Director, for keeping everything running smoothly and making sure we all knew what was going on.

📸 Rob F deserves a huge cheer for his brilliant photography. We can't promise everyone looked fast in the photos, but we're pretty sure Rob has found at least one picture where we all look like Olympic athletes! 😎

And finally... the most important volunteer role of all...

🥐🍳☕ Nicola, thank you for making us all a delicious breakfast! 😋 After all that running, the only sensible thing to do was replace all those calories immediately. It's basically sports science.

Well done to every runner, volunteer, supporter and photographer who helped make #229 such a brilliant morning.

# Cherry Orchard Junior parkrun #228 – The Great PB Party! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎉

Sunday morning at Cherry Orchard meant one thing: **junior parkrun time!** This week, 16 speedy superstars made it to the finish line, helped by an amazing team of 15 volunteers. ⭐

At the front, **Jacob** was flying! 🚀 He zoomed around in **8:31**, grabbed first place and smashed his PB. That’s what we call a speedy start to Sunday!

Hot on his heels were **Isabel and Polly**, visiting us from their home parkrun. It was fantastic to welcome them to Cherry Orchard, and they certainly made an impression, finishing in **8:46** and **8:49**. We hope you enjoyed your visit and come back to see us again! 👋😊

**Andi** was next in **9:42**, with another shiny new PB. 🥳 **Ava** followed in **10:54**, while **Harlow** was a first timer with us, finishing in **11:02**. Welcome, Harlow! 👋

There were PBs popping up everywhere! 🎊 **Aida** smashed her PB in **12:26**, with **Hubert, Jan, Tinashe, Bella, Thomas, Seoirsín, James, Grace** and **Máire** also giving it their very best.

A special shout-out to everyone who kept going right to the finish. Whether you were racing, jogging, walking or taking it easy, you all did brilliantly! 💪❤️

Of course, none of this would happen without our brilliant volunteers. From marshals and timekeepers to barcode scanners, tail walkers and the people who set everything up and pack it all away,and our amazing photographer Rob **thank you!** 👏

And congratulations to all 16 finishers for getting out there, having fun and making Sunday morning a brilliant one.

🌈😊 Cherry Orchard junior parkrun – Volunteers Needed This Sunday!
Hi everyone!
We’re getting ready for another lovely Sunday morning at Cherry Orchard junior parkrun, and we’d love a few extra helping hands to make the magic happen for our amazing little runners.

If you can smile, clap, cheer, or point in the right direction, you’re already qualified.
The kids adore seeing friendly faces along the course — it makes their whole morning.

It’s only about 20–25 minutes, it’s outdoors, it’s fun, and it means the world to the children who turn up every week full of excitement.

🍒 Cherry Orchard junior parkrun #227 – The One With The Flying Feet! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

What a morning at Cherry Orchard junior parkrun! 🌞

There were 16 finishers taking on the course, with plenty of speedy legs, huge smiles and enough energy to keep the volunteers busy! ⏱️😄

🥇 Jacob led everyone home in a fantastic 8:41. Jacob has now earned his 20 junior milestone wristband! 🏅👏 His wristband will be waiting for him next week, so don't forget to collect it, Jacob!

🥈 Morus was visiting us all the way from Wales 🏴 and clearly decided that a little international parkrun tourism should involve running very fast! He finished in 10:29. Croeso, Morus! 👋

🥉 Emre powered round in 10:57. Fantastic running, Emre! 👏

And now for the star of the stopwatch…

🌟 Aida absolutely smashed it today with a super PB of 13:37! 🎉

Aida knocked an amazing 11 seconds off her previous best. That deserves a HUGE Cherry Orchard cheer! 👏👏👏

And a big congratulations to Máire, who has also earned her 20 junior milestone wristband! 🏅🎉 Máire's wristband will be ready and waiting for her next week too. Well done, Máire!

We also had first-timers Hedd and Seoirsín joining us. Welcome to Cherry Orchard! 👋 We hope you enjoyed your first run with us!

We were only delighted to see our old pal Cuan visiting this morning 💙

Of course, none of this would happen without our amazing volunteer team. Caroline was our brilliant run director assisted by 15 volunteers helping make today's event possible, from marshals and timekeepers to barcode scanners, photographers, tail walkers and the people who make sure everything gets packed away afterwards.

A massive thank you to every single volunteer who gave up their Sunday morning to help make Cherry Orchard junior parkrun happen. 👏👏👏

And finally, well done to all 16 finishers! Whether you sprinted, jogged, walked, chased your friends, chased your grown-ups, or simply enjoyed being part of the fun — you were all brilliant! 🌟
