☀️ Cherry Orchard junior parkrun – Run Report #219 – 14/06/2026
The sun was blazing over Ballyer this morning — the kind of day where the kids sprint around the park while the grown‑ups slowly melt like forgotten ice creams.
Fifteen little legends lined up and absolutely belted around the course, full of sunshine energy and pure Cherry Orchard spirit.

🥇 Flying at the Front
Una was first home today, gliding around the course like she had her own personal sunshine spotlight. Cool, calm, and absolutely flying it.

Right behind her came Hank, running strong with a determined look that said he was giving it everything he had.

🪃 The Parkrun Boomerang Lands in Ballyer!
A special shout‑out to Karin, who arrived this morning with something very cool —
the parkrun boomerang 🪃

This little wooden traveller is part of a global parkrun adventure started by Ally O’Rourke, Run Director at South Beach parkrun in Fremantle, Western Australia.
Since June 2024, these boomerangs have been passed from runner to runner and parkrun to parkrun all over the world — connecting communities, sharing stories, and spreading a bit of parkrun magic.

And today… it landed right here in Cherry Orchard!
The kids were buzzing. The grown‑ups were buzzing. Even the boomerang looked delighted.

🌟 PB of the Day belongs to our superstar Alex — the sunshine clearly agreed with him because he smashed out a brand‑new PB!

The stopwatch nearly needed a lie‑down.

👋 Welcome to Our First Timers
We had a great bunch of new faces today — and they were unreal.

A massive Cherry Orchard welcome to:
Keagan
Jack
Josh
James
They smashed their first run and brought loads of excitement to the finish funnel.

🎈 Thank You to Our Volunteers
Fifteen hi‑vis heroes kept everything running smoother than a fresh jar of Sudocrem.

And a huge shout‑out to Run Director Nicola, who kept the whole show on track with pure Ballyer calmness, sunshine vibes, and just the right amount of “right lads, let’s get this done.”

To every marshal, scanner, timekeeper, token‑giver, warm‑up leader and tail walker:
You’re the heart of junior parkrun.

If you want to join the fun next week, the volunteer roster is always open — and it’s way more craic than doing the washing.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ See You Next Sunday
Same time, same place, same brilliant Cherry Orchard magic.
Don’t forget your barcode… and your best sunny Ballyer smile.

☁️ Cherry Orchard junior parkrun – Run Report #218 – 07/06/2026
It was one of those classic Dublin mornings — a bit grey, a bit breezy, and the sky looking like it might throw a tantrum but never actually did. Perfect conditions for 18 mighty juniors who tore around the course like legends.

🥇 Speed Demons Up Front
Seánán was absolutely flying today, storming home in 8:36 with a super PB.
He was moving so fast the marshals barely had time to blink.

Right behind him came Senan, who also smashed a super PB with a brilliant 9:18 and congratulations on celebrating your 50th junior parkrun Cherry Orchard junior parkrun
Whatever magic is in the water in Mid Sutton — it’s working.

🌟 First Girl Home
Una led the girls home with a strong, steady run and her usual cool‑as‑you‑like style.
She makes it look easy — we all know it’s not.

🎉 More Super PB Heroes
The PB fairy was busy this morning — big cheers for:

Tom — flying it with a brand‑new PB

Hank — another super PB and still smiling at the finish

The four lads were basically a blur going past the cones.

👋 Welcome to Our First Timers
A huge Cherry Orchard welcome to:

Emily

Axel‑James

They absolutely smashed their first junior parkrun and brought loads of excitement to the finish funnel.
Hope to see you back next week — we love a good first timer.

🎈 Thank You to Our Volunteers

And a special cheer for Run Director Robert, who kept the whole show on the road with calmness, style, and only the tiniest hint of organised chaos — the good kind.

If you’d like to join the hi‑vis heroes next week, check out the volunteer roster.
It’s honestly more craic than doing the dishes.

☁️ Cherry Orchard junior parkrun Run Report – Event #217 – 31/05/2026
It was a bit overcast this morning — the kind of sky that looks like it’s thinking about raining but can’t quite make up its mind.
Luckily, our juniors don’t need sunshine to shine. Seventeen brilliant finishers zoomed, skipped, hopped and powered their way around the course with enough energy to brighten the whole park.

🥇 Speed at the Front
Conor blasted around the course and crossed the line first with a fantastic new PB of 8:01.
He was moving so fast the timekeepers nearly needed seatbelts.

Right behind him came Jacob, running strong and steady as always.

🌟 First Girl Home
Fiadh was our first girl today, and she celebrated in style with a new PB of 10:07.
Only her second junior parkrun and already flying — we love to see it.

👋 Welcome to Our First Timers
A big Cherry Orchard welcome to Saoirse and Jack, who joined us for their very first junior parkrun today.
They ran brilliantly and brought loads of excitement to the finish funnel.
We hope to see you again next week — first timers make our day.

💛 A HUGE Thank‑You to Our Two First‑Time Volunteers
Today’s event simply could not have gone ahead without our two brand‑new volunteers:

K & Mark

They stepped in, put on the hi‑vis, and helped keep our juniors safe, smiling, and heading in the right direction (mostly).
You were both absolute stars — thank you for saving the day.

🎈 Run Director June
A big cheer for June, who kept everything running smoothly with her usual calm, kindness, and “don’t worry, I’ve got this” magic.
From the warm‑up to the final token, she had the whole event shining — even under an overcast sky.

🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Our Wonderful Volunteers
To all 13 of today’s volunteers — marshals, scanners, timekeepers, warm‑up leaders, tail walkers, token‑givers, and cheer‑squad heroes — thank you.
You’re the heart of junior parkrun.

If you’d like to join the fun next week, check out the volunteer roster.
It’s honestly more fun than doing chores at home.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ See You Next Sunday!

28/05/2026

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday morning when Junie will be your run director. If you would like to volunteer (see our previous post) please get in touch. We would love to see you.

🍒 Cherry Orchard junior parkrun: We’re Short on Volunteers! 😄
Alright folks, we’ve a bit of a pickle for this Sunday.

A load of the grown‑ups will be heading off to the Women’s Mini Marathon,
and the rest are already easing themselves into next Monday’s bank holiday like it’s a full‑time job.

So now we’re short a few helping hands, and we need you to loan us a grown‑up.
Parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, neighbours —
if they can smile, clap, and point in roughly the right direction, they’re perfect.

🦸‍♂️ What volunteers do (Dublin edition)
Stand around looking very official altogether

Clap like they’re cheering on the Dubs

Shout “Fair play!” and “You’re flying it!” every few seconds

Help keep everything running smoother than the Luas on a quiet morning

Make junior parkrun the brilliant buzz it always is

No special skills needed — just a bit of soundness.

📣 How to volunteer
Tell your grown‑up to email [email protected] and say:
“I’ll give a hand on Sunday.”

Simple as.

🎉 Let’s keep the fun going
With a few more volunteers, we’ll have another cracking Sunday full of running, skipping, hopping, and whatever mad moves the kids invent on the spot.

☀️ Cherry Orchard junior parkrun Run Report – Event #216 – 24/05/2026
The sun was shining, the sky was bright, and our juniors were absolutely flying this morning. Sixteen fantastic finishers zoomed, skipped, sprinted and sunshine‑powered their way around the course, filling the park with weekend magic.

🥇 Jacob the parkrun Half‑Marathon Hero!
Our first finisher today was Jacob, who not only crossed the line in first finisher but also smashed out a brand‑new PB of 8:52.

And the best part?

He earned his parkrun half‑marathon wristband today — that’s 11 junior parkruns completed!
A huge milestone, and he celebrated it in style with his fastest run yet.

Someone check his shoes — they might be solar‑powered.

🌟 First Girl Home
Una was our first girl across the line, running strong and steady with a brilliant time of 9:30.
She made it look effortless, even though everyone knows it definitely isn’t.

🎉 Welcome to Our First Timer!
A huge Cherry Orchard welcome to Fiadh, who joined us for her very first junior parkrun today.
She ran an amazing 10:14 and brought loads of excitement to the finish funnel.

We hope to see you again next week — first timers make our day.

🎈 Thank You, Run Director Caroline!
A huge cheer for Caroline, who led today’s event with sunshine‑level positivity and perfect organisation.
She kept everything running smoothly from warm‑up to close‑down, and we’re so grateful for her.

🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Our Wonderful Volunteers
A massive thank‑you to Caroline’s brilliant team of volunteers who clapped, cheered, scanned, timed, marshalled, and encouraged every junior around the course.

You’re the heart of junior parkrun, and we appreciate you every single week.

If you’d like to join the fun next Sunday, check out the volunteer roster.
It’s honestly more fun than tidying your room.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ See You Next Week!
Same time, same place, same junior parkrun magic — hopefully with more sunshine and more smiles.
Don’t forget your barcode… and maybe bring some of Jacob’s milestone energy with you.

🌧️ Cherry Orchard junior parkrun Run Report – Event #215 – 17/05/2026
The sun didn’t bother showing up this morning, but the rain nearly held off, which is basically a win in our book.
Luckily, our juniors don’t need sunshine — they bring their own. Nineteen brilliant finishers zoomed, jogged, hopped, and powered their way around the course with enough enthusiasm to brighten the whole park.

🥇 Speed Machines at the Front
Seanán led the charge today, zooming around the course so fast the marshals nearly spun like weather vanes.
Jacob followed close behind, running with determination and possibly still fuelled by last week’s legendary hash‑brown energy.
Una was our first girl home, gliding across the line with style and a smile that could outshine any missing sunshine.

🎉 PB ALERT — Just One Today!
That’s right — today we had ONE shiny, sparkly, super PB…
and it belongs to Adeline!

She absolutely smashed it, proving that even on a grey morning, you can still run like a superstar.
Well done, Adeline — you’re our PB hero of the day.

🎈 Run Director Shout‑Out
A big cheer for Nicola, who kept everything running smoothly as today’s Run Director.
She guided the event with calm, kindness, and just the right amount of “please don’t rain yet” magic.

🦸‍♂️ Our Amazing Volunteers
Twenty brilliant volunteers made today happen — marshals, scanners, timekeepers, warm‑up leaders, parkwalkers, and more.
They clapped, cheered, encouraged, and kept spirits high even when the sky looked a bit moody.

If you’d like to join the fun next week, check out the volunteer roster.
We promise it’s more fun than drying wet socks.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ See You Next Sunday!
Same time, same place, same junior parkrun magic — whatever the weather decides to do.
Don’t forget your barcode… and maybe bring a lucky breakfast item. Hash browns remain undefeated.

14/05/2026

So as we look forward to seeing you all on Sunday when Nicola will be your run director. We can't let the week go by without celebrating Annabelle's wonderful achievement of 250 Junior parkruns of which 31 took place at Cherry Orchard Juniors. Not to mention the 250 plus parkruns achieved especially at Waterstown parkrun Dublin. Well done Annabelle and many congratulations.
