Magheracloone Group Water Scheme

Dear Members.
There will be temporary interruptions to the water supply in the Rockchapel area today 14th September 2026 to facilitate urgent works on a burst pipe. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Dear Members
Following up on our recent request to help protect our community water supply during the current hot spell, we are asking everyone to limit water use to essential purposes only.

Please do not use:

• Hose pipes
• Sprinklers
• Power washers

We also ask that you check all cattle troughs, outdoor taps, and water systems for any leaks and repair them promptly.

If everyone does not reduce their water usage, it may impact the water supply and could result in further restrictions being introduced.

Enjoy the good spell and thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and support which is greatly appreciated as we work together to protect our community’s water supply during this period.

As part of our 50 years celebrations, during the water safety classes at Greaghlone Lake, on the 9th July 2026, we would like to make the young people aware of the importance of our drinking source. There will be live demonstrations with representatives from Inland Fisheries, Monaghan County Council and National Federation of Group Water Schemes. There will be a Water Wizard Quiz with goodies for all who enter and prizes for the 10 chosen entries and a treat for everyone who takes part.
