Celebrate local produce with fresh milk and eggs from The Milk Well! π₯π₯
Every year on 18th June the world celebrates Sustainable Gastronomy Day, reminding us to consider where our food comes from, how the food is grown and how it gets to our markets and eventually to our plates. π½
According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (FAO), βEating locally-grown products helps to boost an areaβs economy, support its farmers and reduce the greenhouse gases and resources used in transporting food.β π±
FAO has 4 tips to encourage Sustainable Gastronomy:
1. Support your farmers
2. Try local foods in your travels
3. Keep culinary traditions alive!
4. Avoid food waste
This yearβs theme is βCelebrating Food Heritageβ. Here at The Milk Well, weβre proud to be part of Irelandβs grass-fed dairy tradition, where our cows graze on high-quality grass and our milk is produced with care for the land. π±π
Come visit The Milk Well to buy delicious, locally produced, fresh milk and eggs to celebrate our Food Heritage and Sustainable Gastronomy! Taste the difference in our pasteurised, non-homogenised, creamy milk and milkshakes, and eggs from pasture-raised hens! π±π₯π₯
