This was without doubt one of the best events I was privileged to be part of this year.
A huge well done to Catherine & Damian Nugent, and the team at Nugent Trailers .ie for opening up their yard and creating such an empowering and practical day for women who wanted to learn more about trailers.
From Damien's demonstrations on how to look after, maintain and service a trailer, to the important safety checks when hitching and unhitching, the day gave women the opportunity to ask questions, get hands-on experience and build their confidence.
A special thank you to Garda ,who shared invaluable information on road safety and the rules and responsibilities around towing a trailer. Seán also brought his driving instruction expertise, giving everyone the opportunity to get behind the wheel, reverse a trailer and experience first-hand what is involved.
What made this day so special was the confidence that everyone took home. Women left Nugent's yard feeling empowered with the knowledge to walk into a yard, understand the language around trailers, ask questions with confidence and, for some, even feel inspired to pursue getting their driving licence.
It was an absolutely fantastic day of learning, encouragement and empowerment. Well done to everyone involved. Catherine, Damien and Nugent Trailers team, it is a real credit to what you have created and achieved.
