The good folk over use their poitín as a base spirit to make a lovely range of liqueurs. Their plum poitin liqueur is particularly nice enjoyed as a highball with some ginger ale along with some bitters & fresh lime to balance it out. A perfect summertime thirst quencher!

“The whiskey might be made in Midleton but it comes to life in The Palace Bar….”
An exceptional single cask exclusive from and . Twenty five year old single pot still Irish whiskey aged solely in a sherry butt and only available at the premises or online. It can also be purchased by the glass at the bar.

As a special prelude to hosting a tasting of their single cask last week, the owner Willie Aherne unveiled the bar that he’s been renovating just around the corner on O’Connell Bridge. Say hello to Bill Aherne’s - a meticulously refurbished premises looking right out onto the river Liffey. The back bar is particularly attractive with a barrel pour installed to allow to go straight to the glass. A lovely nod to how Irish whiskey used to be served in pubs of yesteryear! More on that lovely single cask bottling later….

Inspired by Redbreast’s historic ties with fortified wines, Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask Edition is first matured in a selection of ex-American whiskey casks and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, followed by a final maturation period of 16 months in Málaga Moscatel casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask Edition is rich in Mediterranean expression, bringing a noticeably elegant and more citrus forward personality to the Iberian Series.
A small gathering was held at The Library Bar in the Hoxton Hotel where master blender Dave McCabe hosted a cask component breakdown of the whiskey before finally unveiling the Moscatel Wine edition itself. As a welcome drink a beautiful Redbreast milk punch was mixed and served by the hotel’s excellent bartenders.
Redbreast Moscatel Wine Edition is available nationwide as well as from MidletonDistilleryCollection.com, USA, UK, Germany and Global Travel Retail.
