Join us on Saturday September 12th at 11am for a farm walk, tour, and tasting with Sarah Furno of Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers.

This Meet the Cheesmaker event is part of Centre of Food Culture Ireland Meet the Maker series, proudly supported by sheridanscheese

This immersive event will include a guided farm walk to see the cows, a visit to the ageing rooms, a tasting of milk, curd and of course the beautiful range of Cashel Farmhouse cheese led by Sarah. This is an opportunity to experience the entire journey from land to cheese, and to learn how the flavours change through the seasons and with different ageing. Sarah will also create a sense of context of the difference between Irish Farmhouse Cheese and that from further afield.

Book your place here:

A Milestone!

Now we know Mastermind is a bit geeky in terms of specifics.

This said its very cool to feature as a category question-

Indeed Cashel Blue is the correct answer...

What a fantastic day of tasting, chats and laughter in Dublin. Always such a pleasure to spend time talking to those who love cheese as much as we do. Don’t worry Dublin your queen will soon be back.

Let us share with you our milky story...the rich liquid gold that is fermented into Cashel Blue curds...

Our milk is all local, with 70% last year coming from our farm and home Beechmount. The farm quite literally surrounds our cheese-rooms.

Richer than the milk in French blue cheeses, we dont add cream but we also dont skim any offf. This combined with Jersey cow richness is the secret ingredient to a lush sweet milk.

As you can see we have lots of trees and shade for Brendan's cows on these hot summer days.
