Patrick Harte is our amazing friend! ❤️

Sometimes Barbara thinks she should fire Mike and hire Pat as he takes so much better pictures of the farm compared to the hubby!

Pat is a good neighbour and a great friend of ours, and we love the pictures he always take of our animals!

There is a strong bond between a mum and her baby (cria) in the alpaca world!

The baby sucks milk from mum for the first six months and then needs to be divided by the mum so she can relax and gain weight again.

Some people prefer to divide them also by view, others just with a fencing. We always prefer to keep them together: the baby eventually stops drinking milk and they can still stay together, without causing stress to any part.

Not all alpaca babies are the same: sometimes in the past we needed to divide them, sometimes not. We think it’s just as nature works, but we prefer to see the situation before intervene.

Thanks to Carsten for this stunning picture!

It was a great day at the who invited us for the annual Career Fair!

There was great excitement near the alpacas and plenty of questions raised by the students about a future in an alpaca farm!

We hope to have inspired a lot of future competitors and we couldn’t have made this without our great friend Patrick Harte!

During the last 7 days we saw two storms: a super windy one with destructive gusts, and a rainy one, with freezing showers and hailstorms.
Then we had 4 days without electricity and internet connection.

But after this, we eventually got blue sky and warm sun! The alpacas, chickens, ducks, bees, goats, cats and the doggo were super happy about these and we all relaxed!

Thanks to the ESB workers who relentlessly worked during these awful days in long shifts to restore the network, we can finally be connected again to the rest of the world!

Lots of damages and debris but no injuries or animal in danger, which is the main thing for us!

With bad and good sides, this will be one of the big memories of our alpaca adventure in this wonderful country!
