A great day out yesterday at the with these two beauties

These two yearling heifers were on display and also took part in the judging, where the judge was hugely impressed with both of them.

The girls did an amazing job all day, with plenty of people commenting on their fantastic temperament and quality.

There was great interest in the breed overall, and even a few very interested prospective new breeders — always brilliant to see!

This little eye catcher recently arrived on the farm!

She’s the first little heifer bred from this lovely cow, and she’s the image of her mom!

Hopefully she’ll have a lovely big bag of milk like mom when it’s time for her to calf in the herd!

Calving season is officially underway here in Iveragh, and we’ve been lucky to welcome this stunning heifer calf into the world!

She comes from an exceptional lineage. Her mother is a true outcross cow, bred by a highly respected breeder in Co. Cork and later we were lucky to purchase her from a well-known breeder here in Co. Kerry.
Both of these men played a vital role in preserving the breed through the challenging years of the 1990s and early 2000s—without their dedication, the breed wouldn’t be where it is today.

This little heifer represents the future of our herd. Completely free from the dominant bloodlines currently seen in the Droimeann herdbook, she brings fresh genetics and exciting potential

We’re really looking forward to seeing the impact she’ll have in the herd into the future!

We have been lucky to match these cows with good outcross bulls so hopefully there will be a lovely bunch of calves hitting the ground soon with a rich and diverse genetic background
