On the Day

Come along and see how the Aberdeen Angus breed can fit into your beef production system, whether through:

Suckler production — with a look at performance within the Rathmooney Aberdeen Angus herd

Beef finishing systems — showcasing Angus cattle performance from grass through to feedlot finishing

A great opportunity to see the efficiency, quality, and versatility of Aberdeen Angus cattle in commercial production systems.

Also on the day Herds Competition prize giving.

The Leinster Aberdeen Angus Club, held its latest meeting on Tuesday the 5th of May in the Virginia Show Centre, A constructive meeting was held with many big plans ahead for Summer 2026 so stay tuned!

On the night we were joined by Jack Laurie all the way from the Knowla Angus herd in New South Wales, Australia whom alongside this run their own Ai company Breeder genetics.

On the night Jack gave an excellent talk regarding the Aberdeen Angus breed in Australia and the Australian beef industry, We hope Jack had an enjoyable few days in Ireland visiting the herds of some of our club members and wish him safe travels as he heads to the European Angus Forum in Romania.

Great day selling today in the IAAA Spring Sale in Thurles Mart with 3 of our 4 entries finding new homes.

Liss Beaut A383 topped the sale selling for €5600 to a repeat customer for suckler cows.

Liss Magic Touch B412 is off to pastures new selling for €5100.

13 month old Liss Tomsheen B437 sold for €4900 with our 3 bulls averaging €5200.

Thanks to the Irish Aberdeen Angus Association for putting on a great sale and to the buyers for their continued support. We would like to wish everyone the best of luck with their purchases.

Next day out for us is the Spring Sale in Nenagh Mart next Thursday 30th of April where we will have 4 bulls for sale.
