Meet the Portally Alpacas at Waterford Harvest Festival! 🦙💙

Get up close and meet some of the fluffiest stars of this year’s Waterford Harvest Festival on Ballybricken Green!

Aeron & Ann from Portally Alpacas have been sheep farming for 15 years, with Aeron bringing three generations of shepherding experience from the Brecon Beacons in Wales. Their love for alpacas began in 2017, and they’re passionate about sharing their knowledge, stories and love of these beautiful animals.

Come along, say hello, meet the alpacas and hear all about life on the farm! 🦙💚

FROM FIELD TO YARN.

From Black Betty to a ball of wool !!!!!!
Black Betty is a blue texel ewe , Aeron shore her earlier this year and kept her fleece separate. On Sunday a lovely lady called Grainne came to walk the alpacas with her family , when she saw it in the ground she asked could she have it ... on Monday , 24hrs later, she sent me this picture . She had washed the fleece and eas spinning it. Look at the colour of the wool . 100% sustainable

What a beautiful weekend of walks and meet n greets. Thank you to everyone that has walked with us over the past few weeks . We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we have .
