So… I’ve officially reached 70.
I wrote that number down and waited for it to scare me. It didn’t. Honestly, I feel about 35—maybe with the knees of a 70-year-old 😄—and after a night like that, I mostly just feel deeply, profoundly lucky.
They told me we were just having "a small, quiet dinner with the family." They lied straight to my face! I had my suspicions, said nothing, and decided to just go with the flow. Good thing I did, because walking into that room blew me completely away.
Every single person I love, gathered in one room, on the very same night. Friends who have walked beside me for decades, family I raised, and people who traveled from so far away just to hug me.
There were moments when I just stood off to the side, took a breath, and watched it all. The dancing, the full tables, the laughing, the little ones running between everyone’s legs. And I thought to myself: this is it. This is what I built. This is my life.
Thank you to my incredible children, who planned every single detail behind my back for months with the patience of saints. You turned one evening into a memory I will carry with me forever. 🤍
Thank you to everyone who showed up, who raised a glass, who danced with me until I couldn’t dance anymore, and to everyone who sent so much love from afar.
I don't know what the next decade holds, and I'm in no rush to find out. All I know is that I’m starting it with a full heart, surrounded by the best people in the world, and with endless reasons to keep smiling.
Thank you, all of you. Truly. 🤍🥂✨
