I wasn’t a fan of Greek food, but as you can see, in our 2 week trip there we pretty much ate our way through the islands and city! From brilliant meaty dishes like souvlaki, lamb chops, kontosouvli (roasted pork) to classic greek yogurt, spanakopita, sausages, 1) food was wholesome 2) large portion sizes and 3) generally affordable when compared to other European countries.
One of my favourite meals was at Kosmikon in Plaka, Athens. The name of the restaurant looks quite different in Greek of course! The pan seared buttery scallops were so good! The slow braised lamb and seabags were very well made too! There was indoor and outdoor (street side seating) and that’s where it’s buzzing with all the action! With high chairs available, almost every place is kid friendly.
Our Airbnb didn’t have breakfast, but they outsourced it to a cafe called VOVA. They offered a limited but absolutely delicious set menu, the freshest OJ and amazing Eggs Benedict.
Another place, I’ve added the serviette photo because who knows the English name was a place we met the cutest kitten and had the largest lamb chop ever! I was famished so there’s only a photo of me eating it :D
