From creating content to teaching content—grateful for the journey.

One step closer.

Last Sunday, we completed a practice (recce) walk through Darjeeling town to understand the route, logistics, and community response ahead of the Clean Hills Walk 2026.

The journey has begun, and we’re getting ready for the 8-day walk from Todey–Tangta to Darjeeling.

Thank you to everyone who joined and supported the trial walk.

One Walk. Many Hearts. Cleaner Hills.

What if the biggest problem in our hills is also the easiest one to solve?

Before we become the finest tourist destination, let’s become the cleanest.

Clean Hills Walk is an 8-day, ~200 km journey from Todey–Tangta (India–Bhutan Border) to Darjeeling, spreading one simple message:

Carry Your Trash to the Bin.
आफ्नो फोहोर, डस्टबिनसम्म।

If you believe in cleaner hills and a stronger tourism economy, walk with us—even if it’s just for a few kilometres.

Let’s make this an annual movement.

The anthem is ready.

And so is the journey.

This isn’t just another walk.

It’s a movement with one simple message:

Carry Your Trash to the Bin.

Before we become the finest tourist destination, let’s become the cleanest.

From 7–14 August, I’ll be walking nearly 200 km across the Darjeeling & Kalimpong Hills to spread awareness, encourage responsible tourism, and inspire a simple habit that every one of us can adopt.

Real change doesn’t begin with big speeches.

It begins with small actions.

One wrapper.
One bottle.
One person deciding not to leave trash behind.

If government and community walk together, cleaner hills are possible.

This is our anthem.
This is our message.
This is our walk.

One Walk. Many Hearts. Cleaner Hills.

Before we dream of becoming the finest tourist destination, let’s become the cleanest.

For years, I’ve walked these hills as a trek leader, runner, and tourism professional.

Every walk reminds me of one thing.

Our mountains are beautiful.
Our people are warm.
Our culture is unique.

But one challenge continues to stand in front of us.

Trash.

A cleaner Darjeeling and Kalimpong Hills isn’t just the government’s responsibility. It belongs to all of us.

This August, I’ll be walking nearly 200 km across the hills—not to break a record, but to start conversations, inspire action, and remind ourselves that every wrapper carried to a bin makes a difference.

This is not a protest.

This is not a campaign against anyone.

It’s an invitation.

An invitation to residents, students, businesses, tour operators, trekkers, runners, and every visitor who loves these hills.

If we walk together, we can build the cleanest hill destination in India.

And once we achieve that, becoming one of the finest tourism destinations becomes possible.

Something BIG is walking this Independence Week.

For years, I’ve walked these hills as a trek leader, runner, and tourism professional.

This time, I’m walking with a different purpose.

Not to reach a summit.

Not to set a record.

But to help start a movement.

A movement that believes clean hills are the foundation of great tourism.

Over 8 days, I’ll walk nearly 200 km across the Darjeeling and Kalimpong Hills with one simple message:

Carry your trash to the bin.

This isn’t just my walk.

It’s our hills.

Our responsibility.

More details soon.

“In 1986, I wasn’t watching the World Cup from a comfortable seat. I was a little boy in Ghoom, selling roasted peanuts wrapped in newspaper outside a video hall. When the final whistle blew and everyone went home, my job began—I cleaned the hall. I loved football, but I hated cleaning. Looking back, I realize football gave me dreams, and work taught me discipline. Both shaped the person I became.”

AI recreation of a childhood memory.

Success doesn’t happen overnight.

The Tenzing Norgay Trail Run may look like a successful event today, but behind it are six years of hard work, failures, risks, sacrifices, and countless efforts to make a difference in Darjeeling. Along the way, I have worked with people, supported causes, promoted our hills, and continued to believe in the potential of our land even when the path wasn’t clear.

Today, seeing runners from across the country come together to celebrate the legacy of Tenzing Norgay fills me with pride. Not because we organized an event, but because we created something meaningful for Darjeeling.

This is not the destination; it is only the beginning.

I will continue to do everything I can to promote Darjeeling, encourage responsible tourism, create opportunities for local communities, and keep alive the legacy of the legendary Tenzing Norgay.

Life is about making a comeback, staying in the fight, and building something that makes you proud.

The journey continues.
