Adayalakkallu or Menhirs – which is also known as Nadukkallu or landmark stone is one among invaluable reminiscences of stone age people, who pioneered the area around BC 1020 and 950. Several Menhirs have been discovered from different parts of Idukki district. But the Adayalakkallu at Kochukamakshi near Chempakappara is the most popular and well maintained one, owing to the proximity to Adayalakkallu Bhadrakali temple.

കൊച്ചുകാമാക്ഷിയിലെ അടയാളക്കല്ല്, ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ നിലനിന്നിരുന്ന നിയോലിത്തിക്ക് ശിലായുഗത്തിലെ ആളുകൾ ക്രൂഡ് ടെക്നിക്കുകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കൊത്തിയെടുത്ത ഉയരമുള്ള വലിയ കരിങ്കല്ലാണ്. ഏകദേശം 15 അടി ഉയരവും നാലടി വീതിയുമുള്ള കല്ലിന് ഏകദേശം 20 സെൻ്റീമീറ്റർ കനവും നിവർന്നു നിൽക്കുന്നതുമാണ്.
