Yesterday at .cal honestly felt like one big house party where people connected through food, cocktails & stories. 🍸
SOLO by was genuinely one of the most unique concepts I’ve attended in Kolkata— every cocktail represented a stage of his life.
The welcome drink Earth & Leaf instantly took me to our Bengali Laal Shaag (amaranth leaves). Turning something so local into such an elevated experience honestly impressed me so much.
Then came the marigold infused cocktail and one sip literally felt like entering a relaxing 5-star spa lobby 🌼
And Pod & Palm? Such a beautiful representation of Kerala. Coconut, cacao & earthy notes that instantly gave a sense of hometown nostalgia.
Now coming to the food because OF COURSE Chef was behind it 🤌
The salmon crudo with citrus was such a fresh start but those WOOD FIRE AUSSIE LAMB CHOPS??? Still thinking about them ❤️
Simple flavours, beautifully executed & that tiny layer of fat made the meat insanely juicy without overpowering the dish.
And lastly the dessert??? Creative bomb 🙌
Gobindo Bhog rice & coconut milk turned into this smooth creamy texture topped with mango & tart — comforting yet so smartly done.
Huge respect to for constantly bringing concepts to Kolkata that feel fresh, thoughtful & experience driven, 🙌
Somewhere yesterday I also realised how much working inside a commercial kitchen has changed me as a person. Earlier I would admire chefs & connoisseurs from a distance, now I confidently walk upto people who inspire me & exchange thoughts with them. That growth felt very personal 💜
Also finally met whose perspective on Kolkata — balancing the old soul of the city with its evolving modern side — I genuinely love reading.
And lastly… ❤️
Thank you for always pushing me towards new experiences happening in Kolkata , We literally align on almost every topic possible 😂

The energy at Yokocho yesterday was AMAZING. Nothing felt formal or pretentious. It felt warm, interactive & inclusive.
Looking forward to more SOLO nights at Yokocho 🍸

Finance. Food. Fun.
Three things that genuinely excite me✌️

Yesterday at the Chapter × event, I got the opportunity to hear some incredibly inspiring founders and industry leaders.

Meeting .daryani.90 Sir was honestly inspiring for me. Ever since I stepped into F&B, I’ve followed his interviews and founder conversations more closely. Hearing him in person reminded me how consistency, patience, and clarity can truly build something massive over time.

Listening to Founder of Reelo and Sir Founder of The Beer Cafe and Ex President of NRAI was equally insightful. As a founder personally involved in operations, kitchen systems, customer experience, and marketing at The Sumos, so many points genuinely stayed with me.

Another beautiful full-circle moment was finally meeting Sir , Back in 2014, after my early morning classes at Sanjay Saraf sir’s tuition, one of my favourite stops used to be Yellow Straw after Kaka Tea. Even back then, the brand felt ahead of its time. Today, as a founder myself, I realize how much patience and vision it takes to build a brand that survives trends and stays relevant.

Honestly, 2.5 years ago, I was someone from the CA profession while simultaneously building my journey as a traveller and food content creator — trying to give people the best infotainment possible through my content and food discoveries.

Today, running my own business has completely changed the way I see entrepreneurship. You don’t just look at finance anymore — you look at people, operations, customer psychology, consistency, survival, and the entire ecosystem.

The last two years have mostly been about learning from scratch, making mistakes, rebuilding, and growing every single day.

And maybe that’s the reality for many FIRST- GENERATION FOUNDERS like us. Not everyone gets the privilege to learn from the best from Day 1. Some of us first learn by failing, correcting basics, and understanding the ground reality ourselves.

But I guess that’s also what makes the journey beautiful.

And now… I look forward to learning and growing more🙌
