POSTCARD FROM PARADISE!!!

Around 05:45 AM in the morning, a well maintained Govt. bus belonging to Andaman State Transport Service crosses the massive Humphrey Strait Creek Bridge (Azad Hind Fauj Setu), the longest bridge in Andaman & Nicobar Island.

This bridge is the border between Rangat Island and Baratang Island, and crosses over the Humphrey Strait Creek.

Location : Uttara Jetty, Kadamtala
Bus Route : Most probably Baratang - Diglipur

On a blistering afternoon with the mercury flirting dangerously close to 40°C, 40097 Bhagat Ki Kothi WDP-4D arrives at the terminal hauling the 14804 Sabarmati - Jaisalmer Express. Across the platform, a contrasting scene unfolds as the 22932 Jaisalmer - Mumbai Bandra Terminus Weekly Superfast stands ready, powered by the formidable duo of 70360 WDG-4D and 12560 (Triyuginarayan) WDG-4 twins from Lucknow Alambagh.

Time, however, hasn’t stood still. The once-familiar 14804 has evolved, now reborn as 20492, upgraded to a Superfast service with sleek LHB coaches and entrusted to the might of a BGKT-based WAP-7, marking a new era on this desert route.
