Loved the ambience, the service and the FOOD. Well rounded menu and well cooked dishes. How many times have we visited a buffet and found mismatch in quality between starters, mains and desserts. Bizarre Asia wasn’t one of them. Good cooking throughout the menu. A little is left to be desired in the dessert section though it’s not at all bad. Overall in this winter Bizarre Asia would remain the most visit worthy new place in town.

Pictures that have been etched forever in the memory from this “friends only” weekender to Digha.

It must be acknowledged that the temperatures dropped suddenly here in West Bengal over this weekend and we were pleasantly surprised how the weather around Digha felt.

Jagaddhatri Puja photo dump.

This is not in Chandannagar though. It’s in Ichapore Nawabganj, a grand old place on the eastern bank of the Ganges, which gets all dressed up every year to celebrate this puja for six days. On the Sealdah Krishnanagar main line, Ichapore is easy to reach and communications are aplenty to take one to Nawabganj.
Next year, maybe give this a visit everyone.

These are the pictures that we took at the MACHAN restaurant in Nainital. The restaurant overlooks the Naini Lake, the single most visited place in Nainital. Beware of the steep stairs though.
We tried their two different pastas - one in white sauce and mushrooms and the other in red sauce and tomatoes, bbq Chicken Pizza and Chicken Momos. All the four dishes were delicious to say the least. The pizza crust wasn’t the absolute best but was better than all the chain pizzas and they had nailed the flavour of the pizza and the authentic cheese was a pleasant surprise. The pastas were both good, we liked the white sauce pasta more. The momos were the juiciest we had in this trip to Kumaon.
