๐๐ก๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐ญ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ค๐ซ๐๐๐ญ
I joined the family business about a year ago. ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐๐๐จ๐ซ has been making high-pressure laminate for over 40 years, long before I came along. My job, at first, was just to understand it. Walk the factory, learn the product, figure out where I could be useful.
What I kept coming back to was the material itself. We make compact laminate, and the more I understood it, the more it didn't add up to me. This stuff is ๐๐๐ง๐ฌ๐, ๐ฐ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐, ๐๐จ๐จ๐-๐ฌ๐๐๐, basically indestructible. And we were selling it by the sheet, as a commodity, to people who would cut it up, finish it, brand it, and sell it for many times what we made. We had spent four decades being very good at the hardest part and handing away the best part.
The kitchenware angle is where it really clicked. You look at what people use to cut and serve on, wood and plastic, and both have real problems that everyone just accepts. Meanwhile, we were sitting on a material that solved all of them and using it for countertops. Nobody had built a serious brand around ๐๐๐ ๐ค๐ข๐ญ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐. The category was just empty.
๐๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ฆ๐. Not a problem I needed to fix, but an opportunity nobody else had taken. We already had the material, the plant, 40+ years of knowing how to make it. The only thing missing was someone deciding to stop selling the sheet and start making the product.
๐๐จ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ญ ๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ก๐๐ซ๐. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ค๐ซ๐๐๐ญ is me taking what this family has quietly been great at for decades and finally putting our own name on the front of it.
