Every dish we served at our pop up began with something we grew up eating in India and Nigeria. Then we played. New techniques, unexpected fusions, and fresh textures turned familiar flavors into something we’d never tasted before.

Cooking side by side pushed us both in the best way. We’re so proud of what we put on the table, and so thankful to everyone who ate with us.

This past weekend, we - Joshua Osamor of Ubulu (oo-boo-loo) and Rachel Gurjar of by_gurjar hosted an intimate eight-seat supper club celebrating their Nigerian and Indian roots. 🇮🇳🇳🇬

Some dishes stayed true to the recipes we grew up with. Others were born from the space between our two cultures. Every detail, from the tablescape to the snacks to the last bite, was a love letter to where we come from.

Thank you to everyone who sat with us, shared a meal, and made it feel like home.

A red and maroon color story.

I knew from the beginning that the color story of this book needed to feel deep, rich, and saturated. These are some of the photographs, objects, paintings, textiles, food, moments, and other little things that stayed with me and inspired the palette throughout the making of East to East. I really enjoyed the art of observing and finding patterns both outside and within as I worked through my creative practice.

Shall we do prints?
