Himalayan Farm Project

Himalayan Farm Project We are a farm in the midst of the Himalayan wilderness - a place where hope and happiness flourish 😀 We are up on the hill and far away from the road.

You know where to find us once you have had tea and buns at Badrivishal Dhaba in Do Gaon, half way up the road to Nainital. Walk up, huff up, don't let that backpack get you down, just keep tramping through the path until you reach the very top! The farm is not the dream of just one man, it's a dream shared by many hundreds who have come, lived, loved and left their goodwill behind for the many others who will keep coming in the times to follow.

We need you to help us sustain this little dream taking shape in the lap of the Himalayas in Kumaon (Uttarakhand)!

We at the Himalayan Farm Project need you to save a dream. As humans we all are witnessing our dreams being trampled over by the mad rush to disembowel Mother Earth of natural resources to fill the coffers of a few, and sn**ch away the bounty of nature from the millions who are its rightful inheritors.

We need volunteers (lots of them) with necessary skill sets and resources for community building. Volunteers who believe in nurturing Mother Earth so that Mother Earth nurtures us. We need volunteers who do not mind dirtying their hands in the fields, enjoy trekking in the jungle, cook, meditate, create, play music, teach one another and learn in the process.

The contribution given by a volunteer is $5 per night — less than Rs 500, which will cover food and stay! We prefer that everyone who is coming to the farm stays for at least a month to make it beneficial to both sides. If one month is not possible, the minimum stay is 3 weeks.

For any volunteer who cannot commit for a minimum of 3 weeks, visitors/group tours will be charged per decision of the farm steward. Contributions will depend on the reason for coming, as we also host alternative lifestyle and education workshops, retreats and transformational experiences here.

We are open to building partnerships and collaborate with likeminded people and groups. So, please share this appeal in your groups and let your friends and family know. And do contact us. Thank you.

This dron-recorded video will give you a panoramic view of The Himalayan Farm Project where at times it feels as if beautiful things happen on their own. So many volunteers who come to live on the Farm take away sweet memories to cherish forever. If you have been to the Farm, and would like to share your experiences, please do leave a comment. We promise that, when you return, you will find the HFP as welcoming and as rejuvenating as it was when you lived here.

Thanks a ton to our Swiss couple (Gael & Marie) for making this amazing video.

Monsoon Meditations at the Himalayan Farm Project

At the outset, we sincerely apologise for being quiet for so long. But now we are really excited to report that the Himalayan Farm Project is witnessing a lot of action. Please share this post widely and let like-minded people know that there is a sacred space waiting for them in the lower Himalayas (around 11 kilometres away from Kathgodam railway station in Nainital district of Uttarakhand).

Earlier this season, the Himalayan Farm Project opened its doors for Monsoon Meditations — a 3-day immersive experience designed to reconnect participants with nature, community, and self.

Set against the backdrop of mist-covered forests and rhythmic mountain rains, the programme combined movement, breathwork, community cooking, and quiet reflection. It offered a taste of living off the grid, embracing the elements, and discovering resilience through simplicity.

This inaugural gathering marked the beginning of a new chapter for HFP pioneering an Offgrid Origins Sacred Space Hub - a place where ideas evolve into action, and the impossible becomes possible.

As we continue to revive and develop HFP, we invite collaborators, volunteers, and visionaries to join us in shaping a living model for conscious, self-sufficient, and transformative living.
