Celebrating 365 days of Gruham! What a lovely night of celebration with the owners, staff, fellow food enthusiasts, and the regular customers. Also got to try their new menu and gave my feedback on what can be added and what can be skipped. Tastes are subjective, so there’ll be a lot of R&D on the new menu before it’s finally rolled out. But most dishes and drinks were on point.

Loved these dishes out of everything I tasted. Hopefully, they’ll be added to the menu. Here are the details:

Puneri Current: Red chilli, tomato juice, fresh lemon, gin, and silky foam. A little अतरंगी but this gave me a punch every time I had a sip!

Rose Mimosa: Not sure about the exact ingredients but this is what we got when we asked the bartender to “surprise us”. That infusion of rose and rose petals though 🤌🏼

Multani mushrooms: A cheesy tandoori dish, comforting, and absolutely delicious

Spicy jerk chicken: Bold flavours and quite tasty, don’t pair this with any spicy cocktails like the Picante or the Puneri Current or you’ll be left 🥵

This dessert is the stuff dreams are made of! The cookie base needed to be a little thick, but it seemed to go well with the vanilla ice cream and the caramel sauce.

That caramel sauce deserves a special mention. I paired it up with other desserts too, like their flourless cakes.

India’s first Kissaten - a Japanese-style coffeehouse/tearoom - is here! Of course I had to experience it!

Momoka opened its doors in Pune, with branches in KP and Prabhat road. Lovely ambience that captures a slice of Japan, amazing beverages, mixed reviews on the food since I’m yet to try everything, and just a feel-good place 🥰

If I ever had to introduce matcha to someone, I would bring them here and make them try this! As someone who isn’t too much into matcha, I actually liked this one and couldn’t stop sipping on this 🙈

So matcha apparently pairs well with berries and fruity flavors. And this one hit right on the point! Matcha paired with raspberry compote, floating on a bed of cream. Too good! You can have it as a dessert as well as a drink.

The softest bread ever!

This dish was made up of a fried miso-mushroom patty along with other veggies, neatly packed in soft bread. Definitely going back for this one! 😍😍

A sweet & savoury item, this has cheese & custard textures and flavors. Perfect way to end the meal if you aren’t too heavy on desserts.

Breakfast in bed ☺️

Indulged in a classic shakshuka on my day off, and spent the morning preparing and eating this with yet another episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Shakshuka, I found, is a wholesome breakfast/brunch dish and one that I keep making regularly. If you haven’t made your breakfast/brunch yet, maybe this post will inspire you to make it 😋

Had to get on the challenge!

This was the prompt:
The Memory of Taste
Write a piece to explore a sensory moment you have not allowed yourself to linger on for a while-something from your childhood? Something that you associate with pain?

Started with a simple one, no fluff. Eagerly awaiting more prompts 😍✌️
