Food Safety is not just a compliance requirement—it's a commitment to every customer.
It was a privilege to attend the Food Safety Summit organized by Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, Pune (MCCIA).
One of the key highlights was the insightful session by Mr. Tukaram Mundhe (IAS), Commissioner, FDA, Government of Maharashtra, who emphasized the importance of food safety from the customer's perspective. He explained how every food business must follow the required regulations, maintain proper documentation, and adopt safe manufacturing practices with the consumer's well-being at the center. His concluding message was simple yet powerful: "Do not compromise on food standards."
The panel discussion that followed was equally enriching, covering how food businesses can build quality into every stage—from raw material inspection and supplier verification to manufacturing controls, compliance, food safety systems, and laboratory testing. A key takeaway was that investing in quality and testing today can prevent far greater costs in the future.
Kudos to Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, Pune (MCCIA) for bringing together policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders on one platform to encourage knowledge sharing and strengthen India's food ecosystem.
