Maa Shailaputri – the first form of Navadurga, embodiment of purity and strength, blessing us on the first day of Navratri.... The divine daughter of the Himalayas – Maa Shailaputri 🌺
Name meaning: Shaila = mountain, Putri = daughter → “Daughter of the Mountain”.
Form: She is depicted riding a bull (Nandi), holding a trident (Trishul) in one hand and a lotus in the other.
Significance: She is considered the embodiment of Mother Nature and represents purity, strength, and devotion.
Day: Worshipped on the first day of Navratri.
Story: She was born as the daughter of King Himavat (the personification of the Himalayas). In her previous birth, she was Sati, who immolated herself in the Yajna fire. She was reborn as Parvati/Shailaputri.
