🥑 AVOCADO 🥑
The avocado is a medium-sized, evergreen tree in the laurel family, native to the Americas. It is widely cultivated for its large, fleshy fruit. The tree likely originated in the highland regions of south-central Mexico to Guatemala. Its fruit is botanically a large berry containing a single large seed.

This is an easy guide to telling whether your avocado 🥑 is ripe or not.
Be sure to check under the nib to see the colour of the flesh.💪🏻
A bright green means it's underripe, green with brown dots means it's ripe while brown will mean it's overripe. A more obvious tell-tale sign is when you cut 🔪 it open.

Underripe 🖐️
You can eat it at this stage however, it will be tasteless and hard. Best for salads. It will be about 4-5 days until ripe. Place in a brown paper bag with an apple or banana if you want to speed up the ripening process.

Ripe👍
This is the sweet spot, nutty, creamy and delicious!
Great for toast, salad, cakes, etc. If you're not ready to eat it just yet, keep it in the fridge to slow down the ripening process.

Overripe🤞
At this stage, the avocado may or may not be edible. If the avocado has any of the following, avoid eating it:
- Mould
- Dark and stringy flesh
- Bad odour
- Dented skin
However, if it's just overly soft without any of the previous points, it should be safe to eat. When it's very soft, it is perfect for guacamole.
