The story of Mohan Meakin Ltd dates back to 1855 when Edward Abraham Dyer set up a brewery in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. The company later merged with Meakin & Co. Ltd. to form Dyer Meakin & Co.Ltd. In 1949 the company was bought over by late Padamshree N.N. Mohan and Mohan Meakin Ltd came into being. During the later half of the century, with the late Brigadier Kapil Mohan at the helm of affairs

the company reached unparalleled heights making them one of the leading IMFL Manufacturers in the Country. Old Monk is an iconic vatted Indian dark rum, launched in 1954. Known for its distinctive blend of spirits distilled from sugar cane and matured for 7 years in select casks by expert blend masters. Solan No.1 is a blend of mature malt spirits produced using traditional Scottish methods of malting, kneading, and distillation on vintage copper pot stills and aged in oak casks. It is the only whisky made in the Himalayas
