Nourish to Flourish Easy Recipes.

Palong Shaag Bhaja—simple, wholesome, and best enjoyed with steamed rice. Serves 3.

Heat 1 tbsp mustard oil, add ½ tsp mustard seeds and 2 dry red chilies. Once they splutter, add ½ tsp ginger paste. Toss in freshly chopped palak (250gms) and cook on high for a minute till it begins to wilt.

Add ⅓ tsp haldi, ½ tsp mirch powder, ½ tsp jeera powder, and salt to taste. Stir well, cover, and let it steam in its own juices.

Cook till the water evaporates, stirring occasionally, and you’re left with a perfectly stir-fried, flavourful saag.
Happy cooking.

A little delayed, due to unforseen circumstances—but full of heart ❤️

Sharing this from Poila Boishakh, when my mommy sat down, looked at the spread we’d sent out on 15th April… and had a full moment 😄
Since the original was in Bengali, here’s what she had to say:
“Shubho Nobo Borsho!” (Happy New Year!)
“And you’ve made so many things?!”
Cut to her scanning the table—
Chingri Posto, Chholar Dal, Doi Begun, Kosha Mangsho, Maacher Kalia, Kosha Chicken, Luchi, Patishapta, Gur’er Payesh… and chutney (because apparently, that’s for rejuvenation 😄)

Then comes the realisation—
“There’s so much food… I think I have to eat it all.”
…and immediately after—
“I’m very hungry now.” 😋

Some things never change—Bengali New Year = love, laughter, and way too much food.
Shubho Nobo Borsho to all of you, even if it’s coming a little late from our side ❤️

“A friend’s post brought me back to cooking—slowly.”
Sometimes, a friend can pull you out of a slump without even realising it.
The past few days have been heavy for us as a family. Losing our pet left a quiet kind of emptiness—one that made even the simplest things feel difficult.

Food, especially, felt different. Chicken was our pet cat, Kochuri’s absolute favourite, and for days I couldn’t bring myself to cook it… let alone eat it.
Sometimes healing doesn’t arrive loudly—it simmers back in, slowly.

But then, a few days ago, I came across 's post on 'tal taley' Chickener jhol, (a light watery consistency)—a dish I’ve always enjoyed each time that she's made it for us. And somehow, that sparked something. A small nudge back into the kitchen.

**The full recipe is in the comments if you’d like to try it.

Stay well, be kind to yourself, and I hope you enjoy this comforting plate of chicken—perfect with steamed rice, paratha or even bread.

Have you ever had a dish that brings back memories?
Tell me your comfort food.
