🇮🇷 IRAN SAYS ITS AIR DEFENSE FORCES ARE DEPLOYED AT MORE THAN 3,800 LOCATIONS

Iran says its air defense forces are now spread across more than 3,800 locations nationwide, from deserts and coastlines to islands and mountains.

The figure was given by Mohammad Sadeghian, deputy coordinator of the army air defense force, who identified four core tasks: detecting, identifying, tracking and engaging aerial targets.

“The ultimate mission of air defense is to prevent hostile aircraft from completing their mission and, when necessary, destroy them.”

He said Iranian systems track flying objects over the country and beyond its borders, with fighter jets or missile systems deployed when an interception is needed.

IRAN HAS BEEN INVITED TO JOIN THE MECCA AGREEMENT AND IS NOW CONSIDERING IT🚨🚨🚨

Mehdi Rahimi, head of the Iranian Parliament's news agency, has confirmed that Tehran received an official invitation to join the Saudi-Turkish-Pakistani defence pact. The proposal is currently under review.

The Mecca Agreement was signed on August 7 by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The pact states that an armed attack on any one member will be considered an attack on all, echoing NATO's collective defence principle.

Iran's initial reaction has been cautious. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on August 10 that Tehran had no reason for concern. Rahimi also framed the move as a victory for Iran's long-standing calls for a regional security umbrella.

But the invitation is full of contradictions. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have historically been uneasy with Iranian influence. The pact was seen by some as a hedge against Iran's regional power, not a welcoming committee. Turkish officials have publicly stressed the agreement is not directed against any specific country, yet the geopolitical tension remains.

Regional realignments are shifting. Turkey has signalled the alliance could expand, with Syria now studying a potential bid. The member states have already begun developing mechanisms for military and diplomatic coordination.

If Iran joins the Mecca Agreement, an alliance formed by US allies, what does that say about the crumbling US-led order in the Middle East. And how long before Washington realises its old allies are building a new table without it.
