Our story...
I love WINE!
Everything about it, the viticulture and enology, the ageing process and, of course the tasting.
The pairing of food and wine became very important to me because I like to cook, bake and give dinner parties.
It was a match made in heaven!
My personal wine journey began with a fruity white blend, usually in a 1.5 liter bottle, sometimes bigger, with a low price.
In summer, I added Rose to my menu and it was great when served very cold.
When winter arrived, I bought a bottle of Mateus and Lancers, adding red wine to my table.
It was the 70's, I was young but felt very cosmopolitan with my wine choices.
Then I took a wine class, "How to taste wine" and then another and another until I confirmed this was an exciting personal journey.
I eventually worked for Chateau St. Michelle winery in Washington State as a Supervisor in Visitor Services giving on site/off site tours and selling their wines.
I had daily contact with our winemakers and in house chef which gave me a better perspective of wine and food pairings.
Additionally, increasing my knowledge of wine and the different varietals grown successfully in the west coast of the United States.
Everywhere I travel I taste the local wines.
I've had pleasant surprises and some, not so much.
I moved to Italy, to a small village in Umbria in 2011 and discovered their remarkable local varietals, Grechetto, a white wine, Ciliegiolo, a red wine and Sagrantino, the big powerful red.
These wines match the geography, climate and foods of Umbria perfectly.
