Ispirata ai principi dell’agricoltura biologico-dinamica, la Tenuta continua ad acquisire nuove conoscenze, scambiandole con i propri partner viticoltori, e mettendole a frutto in nuovi settori. Fondata nel 1823, oggi la Tenuta è gestita, rispettivamente in sesta generazione. The Alois Lageder family winery is the home of high-quality wines from Alto Adige. In accordance with the family’s holistic understanding of nature, Alois Lageder creates wines that contain both the force and harmony of nature within them. Alois Lageder is committed to biodynamic agriculture and the winery continually expands its knowledge in this area, shares it with wine-growing partners and applies it in new areas as well. Established in 1823, the winery is now in the hands of the family’s sixth generation.

Our 2023 LÖWENGANG Chardonnay is now available.

Deeply connected to our family's history, LÖWENGANG Chardonnay reflects four decades of experience, curiosity and change.
Chardonnay has been part of Alto Adige since 1835. At our LÖWENGANG Estate in Magrè, vines almost 80 years old grow on limestone-rich soils, shaped by the region's unique interplay of Alpine and Mediterranean influences.

First introduced in 1984, LÖWENGANG was the first white w**e in Alto Adige to be entirely fermented and aged in barriques. Since then, it has continued to evolve into a fresher, more contemporary expression of Alpine Chardonnay. Lower in alcohol, yet rich in complexity and depth, with remarkable ageing potential.
The 2023 vintage continues this journey, revealing a distinctive Mediterranean character with spicy notes of rosemary and thyme.

Great w**es take time. Time to grow, to evolve and to reveal their character.

Coming home.

Every summer, our oxen leave the farm and spend the warmer months on the alpine pastures. In October, they return to our vineyards.

This seasonal movement is part of a cycle that has shaped alpine agriculture for centuries. Animals graze mountain pastures in summer, while the lower fields can be used for other purposes.
Back at the farm, our oxen become part of the biodynamic cycle once again, grazing among the vines.

From pasture to farm, from animal to soil, from soil to vine.

Now available: LÖWENGANG Cabernet Uvaggio Storico 2022.

With 97 points and a place in James Suckling’s Top 100 Wines of Italy 2026, the new vintage comes from one of our most historic vineyard sites in Magrè, where some of the vines date back to around 1875.

Here, Carménère, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grow together as a historic field blend, rooted in sandy, gravelly and limestone-rich soils.

Different varieties, different ripening rhythms, one harvest: they are picked and co-fermented together. This natural interplay helps us balance acidity directly in the vineyard and gives the w**e its distinctly Alpine character, with freshness, tension and precision.

Through massal selection, we preserve the genetic diversity of these historic vines and carry it into the next generation. An old way of cultivating vineyards that feels remarkably contemporary in the face of changing climatic conditions.

The 2022 vintage shows depth and precision, with dark berry fruit, fine spice and earthy, subtly smoky notes.

Rooted in history, with its eyes on the future.

Old wood. New growth.

A vine may live for decades, but the grapes we harvest each year grow on new shoots.
The old trunk remains: storing reserves, carrying water and nutrients, and supporting another season of growth.
