This hits hard. 💔

I grew up loving this icon of a woman, and it has been such a gift to share that love with my daughter, Duchessa Serafina. Watching her movies, listening to her music, and learning from the way she used her platform to give back—she was, and always will be, an extraordinary role model for women around the world.

A true icon. A beautiful soul. A legacy that will live on for generations. ❤️

Rest peacefully. You will never be forgotten. 🕊️✨

On July 7, 2026, my father, Bill Robinson, took his last breath.

The past year was such a struggle for him. He endured pain, surgeries, infections, and eventually lost the ability to walk. But I think the hardest thing for him was losing the use of his right hand, and eventually both. He loved to draw, paint, and write. He missed being outside, being with animals, and simply being home.
His love of sharing stories helped pass the time during the year he spent in the hospital.
Our relationship was complicated, and now my grief is complicated too. Even now, I continue to learn new things about him.
When I took this photo of the sunset as I was leaving the hospital, I hoped it wouldn’t become the symbol of the sun setting on his life. Yet here we are.
His cowboy hat was a part of who he was. It never went anywhere without him. I hope, wherever his soul has gone, he’s found another one he loves just as much.
Serafina loved her Grandpa Bill fiercely. She adored that he was both a cowboy and an artist. They shared a love of drawing and a special affection for horses. To say her little heart will need time to heal is an understatement.
I know there are many parts of this man that will always remain a mystery to me, but I would love for anyone who knew him to share their stories or photos. I want those memories to be passed on to Serafina so she can continue to know the man her Grandpa Bill was through the eyes of those who loved him.
And to the person who stood by his side through the good, the bad, and the ugly—Grandma Karen—thank you. This has not been an easy journey. You carried the weight of Dad’s ongoing health struggles while facing your own challenges, often on your own. Your strength, patience, and unwavering devotion are extraordinary. You and Dad shared a lifetime together, a love and history that can never be replaced or forgotten. He was incredibly fortunate to have been loved by you.Rest in peace, Dad.

Rainy spring days call for comfort food, but that doesn’t mean it has to feel heavy. 🌧️🌱

Today’s bowl of happiness: a silky asparagus risotto made with fresh market asparagus, paired with sweet, delicate crab. The creamy rice, the freshness of spring vegetables, and the natural sweetness of the crab come together in every bite.

It’s the kind of meal that wraps you in comfort while still celebrating the lighter flavours of the season. Simple, elegant, and exactly what a rainy afternoon needed

pring is definitely in the air ☀️
Sun shining, gin & tonic in hand, and a light gluten-free pasta loaded with fresh porcini mushrooms and asparagus from the downtown farmers market. Finished with crispy bits of guanciale… which honestly seems to be becoming my favourite topping lately lol.

Paired it all with a side of salmon to keep the protein balanced and dinner feeling fresh, light, and delicious. 🍝🥂🐟

There’s something deeply satisfying about building a dish around ingredients that speak for themselves.

Yet again, the guanciale from Oyama Sausage Co. on Granville Island absolutely delivered. Rich, beautifully cured, and crisped to perfection — those little golden bites transformed this creamy butternut squash risotto into pure comfort with a touch of elegance.

Last night’s dish: creamy butternut squash risotto topped with wild-caught Argentinian prawns and finished with crispy guanciale bits. Every spoonful had that perfect balance of sweet squash, delicate seafood, and salty savory depth that makes you pause after the first bite.

Some of my other favourites — and an absolute must every time I’m at Granville Market — is their truffle salami!! That one I can make last… but this guanciale? I’m going to need to figure out how to keep a regular supply on hand because WOW. 😍

One of the many reasons I love cooking is how a truly exceptional ingredient can elevate a simple dish into something unforgettable.

A little bit of Italy, a little bit of the West Coast, all in one bowl. ✨🍤🎃🇮🇹

Tonight I made gluten-free supplì for the very first time — and not just any supplì… filante. That perfect moment when you break one open and the mozzarella stretches like it’s straight from a little trattoria in Rome.

Golden, crisp on the outside. Creamy, savoury rice on the inside. And that dreamy cheese pull that makes you pause just to admire it.

I held my breath serving them, wondering if they would live up to the memory in my heart… and then my daughter ate them all. Every single one.

There is nothing more gratifying than bringing a little bit of Italia into our kitchen — especially when it’s gluten-free and still tastes like tradition. 🇮🇹✨

There’s something about simple ingredients that feels like a quiet luxury. Especially on cold wintery nights and piles of laundry on the go.

Tonight it was fresh figs. Robiola di capra, soft and impossibly creamy. Bread pressed until golden, the kitchen filling with that warm, toasty scent that feels like comfort. An upscale grilled cheese sandwhich 🥰

I didn’t rush it.
I didn’t scroll while it cooked.
I just stood there and listened to the sizzle.

Sweet. Tangy. Crisp. Melted.

It’s funny how something so uncomplicated can feel so elevated — how a few thoughtful ingredients can turn a tired simple meal into a delicious ritual.

Perhaps this should be part of my promise too.
To slow down.
To savor.
To choose quality.
To make even a sandwich feel intentional.

Simple food.
Full presence.
A little Italian romance in the middle of an ordinary night. 🇮🇹✨

The following is always true to follow but here is a gentle reminder for this Holiday season. 🎄🕎

I know that especially take it to heart with my daughter because when she gives she truly gives from her heart ❤️

🌟✨ When a child hands you a gift, even if it’s just a simple rock, remember: it holds a world of meaning. 💖✨
🪨💝 Every little gift they give is a treasure picked from their heart. It’s a reflection of their love, trust, and pride—pure and precious! So, let’s approach these moments with gratitude and enthusiasm. 🙏🏽🥰
📜 Here’s how to show that appreciation:
1️⃣ **Say Thank You** - Let them know their gesture matters. A heartfelt “thank you” can light up their world! 🌈✨

2️⃣ **Value the Thought** - Remember, this might be their only offering at the moment, so treat it like a true gem! 💎💕
3️⃣ **Cherish the Gift** - Find a special spot for their little treasure. Whether it’s a painted rock or a beautiful shell, display it proudly to celebrate their thoughtfulness. 🏠🌟
4️⃣ **Recognize the Symbol** - Each gift is a message of love. Accept it gracefully to show you treasure their feelings. ❤️💌
Let’s make every moment count and honor the beautiful bond we share with our little ones! What small gifts have brought you joy recently? Share below! 👇🏽💬

Thanksgiving is over…is it too early to start thinking about Christmas…No!!! Did you cut up to many lemons or have some leftover cranberries that didn’t make it into the pot well let’s get creative. I took a mini muffin pan and threw some cranberries and cut my leftover lemon wedges into triangles into each cup. I also had a few sprigs of leftover herbs so I also them. Boiled some water and filled each cup. Placed it in the freezer and once they were solid I put them all into a ziplock bag. Now I use boiling water because it makes clear ice cubes and you get to see all the beautiful colours. These are great for Christmas entertaining or for anytime really. Perfect for a glass of sparkling water or a gin and tonic. Your guests of all ages will appreciate and enjoy them. 🥰
