Our small farm is a work-in-progress with big plans to organically produce olive oil, honey, aromatic herbs, and a variety of fruits and nuts, alongside offering learning and farmstay opportunities.

Colgo l’occasione di ricordarvi della bellissima occasione di andare a scoprire camminando non solo la saggezza nascosta nei libri di Paolo Piacentini ma anche il potenziale di un nuovo cammino che forse un giorno collega Penna e Giove e ricorderà la visione della nostra cara amica Jamie Watts, ecologista e amante delle scoperte naturalistiche 🌱💚
Il programma consecutivo delle conferenze mattutine in sala Marchese Constanza nel centro storico di Penna, il pranzo vegetariano nel parco e(!) i laboratori del pomeriggio nella nostra fattoria sostenibile ViA Verde riprendendo poi proprio il tema di come creare un legame tra noi stessi e la natura in modo trasformativo e rigenerativo .. per noi e l’ambiente d’intorno a noi..🌱

🌿 Benvenuti & welcome to Via Verde Farm 🌿
More than a farm — we are a living and learning lab for sustainable and regenerative agriculture 📚🌱👩🏻‍🌾
And a few weeks ago, we had the honor of welcoming a UN delegation for a field visit designed together with local partner farms engaged in beekeeping , winemaking and transformation of farm-to-table Mediterranean herbs, fruits, and olives .verde.umbria. We shared real challenges and creative, collaborative solutions from the field.
Curious to experience what sustainable farming — and this beautiful region — has to offer? 👀🏞️ Come visit us in 2026 ☀️ We’re excited to welcome people from near and far.

Happy new year! Or should we say: To a s**tty new year? Together we can turn s**t into compost and compost into new plant energy! Or like the italian singer and songwriter said so famously: Nothing grows from diamonds. But flowers grow from dung! (Fabrizio de André)
The compost toilet represents everything that made 2025 special for ViA Verde: It is a place where we turn s**t into compost .. which in return is the base for abundant growth and new (plant) life! Our new compost toilet stands also for collaboration and recycling and upcycling! It was built by our fantastic wwoofers and 2 first long-term interns (many memorable moments!). And while it was ready in a first version for our big farm inauguration last September it was perfected with a great paint job on the inside just in time for the visit of a UN delegation this December that wanted to learn more about our regenerative practices (such as this simple compost toilet ;)). (two other highlights of last year btw ;)). Another reason to be proud: We built the compost toilet with over 95% of gifted, recycled and upcycled elements. Can you believe it: The only thing we bought, were the blocks on which we rested the old wooden door-cut-out and the toilet paper (which is of course made from recycling paper as well). Have you ever used a compost toilet? If not - see how it works on the beautiful instruction that Matt drew and framed in a golden frame we found in our historical building (see next pic). Of course you can also simply come and visit us/the toilet in 2026! And then let’s lift our glasses to a s**tty year 2026. Because Yes - s**t happens. It happened in 2025 and will happen again in 2026. But as long as we learn to turn it into something fertile for the growth of new things, it’s going to be all good 🌱
