Mefistofelica bellezza - Capra hircus ♂
(Caprone della Val Passiria|Passeirer Bock|Passeier mountain goats)

Nascosto tra le rocce ed i cespugli, ammiravo da pochi secondi questo animale a me all'epoca sconosciuto. All'improvviso.. mi è corso incontro!! Lo stupore ha sostituito il più profondo terrore quando ho realizzato che questo peloso colosso co***to dall'aspetto demoniaco ha scambiato me per il suo pastore.

Mein neuer zärtlicher Freund begleitete mich freundlicherweise Berg runter bis zum Bach. Manchmal forderte er mich auf, einen hohen Rhythmus zu halten, indem er mich sanft mit seinen Hörnern drängte. Ich glaube, ich habe einen Hauch von Besorgnis in seinen Augen gesehen, als er sah, wie ich weit abrutschte und dabei mein Knie verletzte.

Una tortora sul tetto - Streptopelia decaocto (Tortora dalcollare|Türkentaube|Eurasian collared dove)

"Durante la quarantena dovuta alla pandemia Covid mi mancheranno molto i miei amici animali" pensavo tristemente. Ho invece scoperto che sono sempre accanto a me, più vicini di quanto potessi pensare. Sono in giardino, sul tetto, sul balcone, sul davanzale della finestra e, talvolta, in casa. E sono più simpatici che mai.

"Hu-hu hu!" Seine unermüdlichen Gesänge prägten über Monate den Rhythmus meiner Arbeitstage im Homeoffice und den Verlauf meiner alltäglichen Routinen während des Lockdowns.

Un incontro discreto - Anguis fragilis (Orbettino|Blindschleiche|Blindworm)

Vedendolo strisciare nella mia direzione sono cascato nel più antico errore del mondo: ho pensato si trattasse di un serpente. Sapevate che l'orbettino è invece un innoquo parente della lucertola?

Ich begegnete zwei dieser Exemplare oberhalb von Schloss Runkelstein. Sie verknoteten sich ineinander und verschmolzen mit den trockenen Blättern. Vielleicht kämpften sie heftig miteinander, vielleicht vollzogen sie aber auch ein seltsames Ritual der Liebe.

Initially, the picture showed a couple of little blindworms. However, I thought to enhance only one of them, readjusting “slightly” the image with Photoshop. What do you think about the final result?

Gli innamorati - Ovis musimon (Muflone|Mufflon|Mouflon)

Da sempre affascinato da questo ungulato dalle abitudini diurne e gregarie, stavo organizzando una spedizione fotografica in Sardegna. Un articolo sul giornale locale ha inaspettatamente stravolto i miei piani.

In meiner Region sind mehrere Mufflonpopulationen entdeckt worden. Nach monatelangen Recherchen, kilometerlangen Wanderungen und großen Höhenunterschieden wurde ich für meine Bemühungen im Fassatal endlich belohnt.

A large herd of mouflons caught my attention, not far from the tourist resort of Canazei. After some initial fear, I managed to approach this couple of lovers and photograph their love.

Sua maestà - Cervus elaphus (Cervo|Hirsch|Red deer)

Lo scorso Ottobre ho sfruttato a mio favore la stagione degli amori del cervo, allo scopo di avvistare un esemplare maschio selvatico dotato di palco.

Während der Morgendämmerung hallte das Röhren, vom Wind getragen, kraftvoll im Tal wider. Schließlich entdeckte ich nach einem langen Spaziergang einen Brunftplatz am oberen Waldrand.

Your Highness, the king of the forest, showed his elegance to my eyes before he vanished into the thick forest, followed by his ladies. Unfortunately, he must have heard the sound of my trembling legs from a distance. The emotion was still great. I had never seen such a beautiful creature in the wild before.

Amo questa foto perchè mette in evidenza le incredibili doti di scalatore di questo atletico camoscio, inerpicato su una parete verticale mozzafiato.

Dieses Exemplar hielt wahrscheinlich gerade Ausschau. Der Rest der Herde ruhte in höheren Lagen zwischen Felsen und Latschenkiefern.

Occhi dolci - Capreolus capreolus (Capriolo|Reh|Roe deer)

Questo morbido tenerone rovistava maldestramente tra le foglie secche, quasi invisibile nel suo mimetico mantello invernale. Nonostante i suoi sensi prodigiosi, fortunatamente non ha notato
la mia presenza, forse distratto dal vento e dal fruscio del vicino ruscello.

Mich auf mein Gehör verlassend, spürte ich seine Anwesenheit schon von weitem. Langsam und leise vorrückend, lauerte ich hinter dem Stamm einer Kiefer. Er bewegte sich langsam auf mich zu.

A few seconds together in apnea, an intense look, mutual fear and curiosity. A smile that sounded like goodbye.

Dormiveglia - Falco tinnunculus ♀ (Gheppio|Turmfalke|Kestrel)

Sviluppando questa foto ho creduto di aver sbagliato grossolanamente il bilanciamento dei colori. Ho invece scoperto, con incredulo stupore, che il becco del gheppio tende al blu.

Ich hatte aber seine geringe Körpergröße sofort bemerkt. Er gehört in der Tat zu einer der kleinsten Greifvogelarten Italiens.

He rested his elegant fan-shaped wings, cautiously perched on top of a small shrub. On this occasion I could not appreciate his extraordinary flying skills.

La sentinella dei monti - Marmota marmota (Marmotta|Murmeltier|Marmot)

Le marmotte vivono in colonie numerose, altamente organizzate, collaborative e sociali. Il gioco di squadra è la forza di questi simpatici gruppi familiari, che fanno del lavoro, della fiducia e del sostegno reciproco una ragione di vita.

Während die Gruppe nach Nahrung sucht oder sich gemütlich in der Sonne ausruht, halten einige Exemplare Wache. Diese Nagetiere verfügen über einen ausgeprägten Sehsinn. Von diesen Wächtern der Berge bleibt man nie unbemerkt.

The Earth's surface is about half of the living habitat of these animals. They dig deep underground tunnels where they spend the night and the long winter hibernation, sheltered from the cold and possible predators.
