The candied sweet potatoes are coming together—layered with brown sugar, butter, warm spices, and plenty of love. ❤️ Just a little more time in the oven for all that goodness to melt together and create that rich, sweet, buttery flavor!

This is what makes the teacher in me smile! 👩🏾‍🍳💚

I received a little update from the camp leader and host of the students from my very first Sha Sha’s Junior Chef Cooking Class, and these pictures made my day! 🥰

As teachers, we’re always looking to see if what we taught was actually learned, remembered, and applied. And one of the best ways to know? When our students take those skills and use them independently outside of the lesson. 🙌🏾

Look at my Junior Chefs putting those skills to work—making pizza, seasoning vegetables, sautéing them, following their recipes, and continuing to cook at home! 👩‍🍳🥦🥕💚

This is exactly why I created this experience. It wasn’t just about preparing one meal that day—it was about teaching children real-life skills, building confidence in the kitchen, and planting a seed that they can continue to grow. 🌱

Seeing them continuing what they learned lets me know the lesson went far beyond our class that day.

As we close out our summer season, my heart is truly full.
A huge THANK YOU to the Fort Dix military community for welcoming Sha Sha’s Catering Service with open arms! 🇺🇸🙏🏾 From the very beginning, the love, support, kind words, and excitement for our food have been such a blessing.

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the men and women who serve our country, along with your families and the entire military community. To be so well received means more to me than you know.

Thank you for every platter purchased, every compliment, every referral, and every person who came back for more! Your support allowed Sha Sha’s to do what we love—serve up good Soul Food made with love!
We may be wrapping up for the summer, but this isn’t goodbye! Sha Sha’s will be back in the Fall!
