Between our two villa stays at Hakone Retreat, we also spent one night in the hotel area’s före Suite. At 109 sqm, it comes with a spacious living room, balcony, two bedrooms, and a bathroom with a bathtub. Every window looked out to shades of green - it really felt like living inside a forest! More details in the photos.

在 Hakone Retreat 的兩間 villa 之間，我們還有一晚住在飯店區的 före Suite。面積有109平米，包含一個寬敞的起居室、陽台、兩間臥室、和帶有浴缸的浴室。每一扇窗看出去都是樹，完全是住在森林裡的感覺！細節請看照片說明。

Our trip to Japan this summer was originally planned as a mix of mountain and seaside stays, but just as we were about to head for the coast, Japan issued a tsunami warning. We cancelled our seaside hotel last minute and stayed in Hakone for a total of 6 days, which turned out to be a serendipitous twist for our journey.

I’ve been to Hakone a few times before, but always in a rush – just for a night, or even as a day trip from Tokyo. It was this unplanned stretch of days that allowed me to truly fall for this area, and I’m already dreaming of returning in another season. Here are details of where we stayed this time, perhaps it will spark some inspirations for your next trip.

今年夏天的日本之旅，原計劃是在山上海邊各住幾晚，沒想到在前往海邊的前一天，日本發佈了海嘯警報。我們臨時取消行程，就這樣在箱根待了整整六天五夜。之前已來過箱根數次，但都是住一晚、甚至當日從東京來回的匆忙行程。這次意料之外的慢遊，讓我真正愛上這裡，已想著要換個季節再訪。

以前的我，不會在同一間飯店住這麼多天 —— 行程排得越滿越有旅行感，住宿也換來換去。但有孩子後的旅行方式不一樣了，找到一間舒適的地方安頓下來、無需頻繁搬行李 check in/out，對一家人來說更輕鬆愉快。本次的住宿分享在這裡，給你下一趟旅行來點靈感。

【去年的日記】

這篇日記是在2024年3月 – 小女兒El剛滿四個月時 – 寫的，隔了快一年再翻出來看，別有滋味。文中提到將要帶女兒們去日本旅行，於是花了些時間把近兩次在東京特別喜歡的地方整理整理，會分享在下一篇。

"以目前為止的人生來說，我有過非常多開心的時刻。但成為母親後，第一次感受到胸口像裝了一片海洋般，滿到要溢出來的澎湃情感。是連在巴黎做著自己熱愛的甜點時都沒感受過的情感。這樣的體驗，不知道是不是一定要成為人母才能感受到。對我來說似乎是的（可能是產後荷爾蒙作祟，暫時性的母愛大爆發吧）。"

Hosted a Christmas baking class for Em and friends last weekend. Wasn't sure what to expect, or if I'd even like teaching 3 and 4-year-olds...but it turned out to be just lovely. Each kid made a Christmas tree using páte-à-choux glued together with pastry cream, topped with a meringue star, and finally, a dusting of powdered sugar "snow".

Even the late night testing and prepping, which brought back memories (the sweet and the sour) from old kitchen days, was thoroughly enjoyable. A much welcomed reminder of how rewarding it is to materialize something that was once just floating in my head.

Also feeling grateful to the parents of Em's friends, who brought food, drinks, and a bright spirit to fill our home that morning. To be continued, I hope.

不知不覺就進入了十一月。
每年總在這個時候驚覺，啊，年末近了。
（時間到底去了哪兒？）

1-3/
上個月為了參加婚禮去了夏威夷。
真是個讓人充滿能量的地方，除了貴沒缺點。
（夏威夷的推薦，有人想看嗎？）
（東京、福岡、沖繩的內容都還沒寫...）

4-5/
朋友夫婦已結婚數年，當年因疫情沒辦婚禮，現在補。
海邊草地上的儀式，自己的女兒當花童，簡單、美好。
無需裝飾，燦爛陽光和蔚藍大海就是最理想的背景。

6-10/
屬於Em自己的一些瞬間。

11-12/
和Em一起做了早餐松餅和珍珠泡芙。
她是個一起床就把自己打扮完整的女孩兒，
裙子、王冠、項鍊戒指手環，一個不能少。..而媽媽我還穿著睡衣、臉也沒洗。

13-14/
姐妹兩和平共處的罕見片刻。
El快一歲了，會爬會站會抓，經常弄壞姐姐搭好的玩具。
Em開始會說 ”討厭妹妹“ 這類話，我還在學習如何應對。

15-16/
海邊一朵柔軟的雲。
以及某天抬頭忽然看見的雙彩虹。

17-18/
一杯可愛的酒，
一隻企圖把我酒杯打翻的貓。
