Before Mommy flew out to spend more time with my sister and her family, I was able to squeeze in a short time to have brunch with her. She once mentioned Chapter Coffee Roastery & Cafe to me so this is where we went to give it a try.

As soon as we stepped inside, we both loved the naturally-lit interiors. I love the high ceiling and how peaceful the place feel. I also love the coffee bar area for solo diners too.

There weren’t a lot of food options but it was still hard to choose as a lot sounded so good. We ended up with the following for our first visit:

🍞 Bread Basket: you get to choose between slices of brioche bread or focaccia. We got a few of each and it was so gooooood! The bread was tender and soft. It went to well with their creamy butter too. I loved it so much that I got more foccacia to bring home to my kids who enjoyed it as well.

🍝 Truffle with Smoked Salmon : a bit too much on the creamy side. It was good though as they were very generous with the smoked salmon slices and the truffle aroma was very evident. L was able to try this and she loved it! Oh my truffle-loving princess.

🐓 Chicken Tocino: this was our favorite dish that day. Sweet and tender chicken tocino with creamy scrambled eggs and a generous portion of garlic rice. Mommy and I shared this and we both felt so full after.

For my coffee, I tried the Espresso Soda which was good! I love the mix of espresso and sparkling soda water. 🥰

It was a quick bonding session and Mommy will be away for almost a month for her much-deserved R&R.

Happy to have discovered Chapter Coffee Roastery & Cafe and we’re already planning for our return once she’s back.

📍 Chapter Coffee is located 365 P. Guevarra, San Juan City ☕️

Cebu is known to be the Queen City of the South and if you ask me, it’s genuinely one of the friendliest cities that I’ve been to here in the Philippines.

As I was planning for our family trip tp Cebu, I ensured to keep our itinerary very flexible given that we’re traveling with my parents and 4 kids. My only request was a half day city tour to teach the kids about our country’s history.

First stop was at House of Lechon 🐷 No visit will ever be complete without enjoying some Cebu Lechon and we went to this highly-recommended stop by locals and AI alike haha

We got two types of lechon: regular and spicy.

We loved the regular variant so much as the spicy was more on the saltier side.

Swipe to see more of the dishes that we got to try ➡️

📍 House of Lechon is located at Acacia street, Cebu City

The best Baked Scallops ever! This was hands down our family’s favorite that one plate was not enough and we had to get another one of the kids to share. Love the plump and juicy scallops and each piece was so buttery and cheesy.

Gising Gising na Kangkong — super fresh water spinach and I have requested for the sambal bagoong to be served on the side but I highly recommend for you to add it in every serving for that extra kick.

Ngo Hiong — this was highly recommended by our server. As Fil-Chi we thought it was like our typical kikiam (which we also call ngo hiong) but this one had a nice crunchy bite as it’s filled with crisp ubod and the sauce paired so well too.

Puso Rice — we wanted the kids to try this as this is unique to Cebu. Sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf thus giving it a more fragrant note. With all our delicious dishes that day though, one puso is not enough 😂

Crispy Chicken Skin — the kids’ chosen appetizer. We were not able to try this as it was wiped out in no time.

Bisaya Soup — this was Mommy’s special request. She loves clear veggie soup and I got to admit that it was a good balance to the lechon and fried ngo hiong. The prawns were huge and we love the fresh mix of malunggay, squash and sitaw. ❤️

The kids were so entertained watching this lady make Puso Rice while waiting for our table.

As my chingu puts it perfectly “When Deli by Chele calls, we (always) answer.” Not even the busy Ortigas after-office traffic can stop me from braving my way over to show my chingu Mela Sison - Laxamana some love 💕 and support as Deli by Chele All Day at The Podium opens TOMORROW! 🥳

That’s reason #1 and next is because I can never ever say NO to any opportunity to enjoy my favorite Deli by Chele’s Shrimp Alfredo. 🦐 🍝

True enough, imagine having a long working day and arriving at Deli by Chele with a plate of my favorite pasta waiting for me. Now that’s the best way to unwind, right? Not to mention, I got to catch up with my chingus too. 🥰

Here are the other dishes that are also must-tries:
🍟 Homemade fries and dips
🍤 Tiger Prawn Roll — they’re so generous with the filling!
🍞 French Toast — the best in town, ya’ll!
🍰 Tiramisu

I can’t wait to go back and bring my sister there for our much-awaited all-girls brunch date. 🩷

Congratulations Deli by Chele team and chingu Mela Sison - Laxamana 🫶🏻

𝓢𝓾𝓻𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓵 🌟

If I had to describe what happened yesterday, it was truly a dream come true. My college-girl heart was so full that it was overflowing. 💗

Three hours of singing and fan-girling with my chingu brought back so many memories—from the day I first discovered Meteor Garden, when John Paul Ang “burned” an entire set of VCDs just for me, to singing every song from their first album every single day. And now, years later, their songs still sit at the top of my Spotify playlist, with making an appearance in my yearly .

Coincidentally, I also discovered Mayday during my days in the Lion City. I loved their song 愛-ing so much that I would have it on repeat for days on end.

I never thought I’d get the chance to see them live, but that didn’t stop me from honoring them with my F4-inspired birthday celebration this year. Well... it’s my Forty-4th, so it must be destiny. 💫

Every minute of the concert was worth it. Our boys—Jerry Yan 言承旭, 周渝民 Vic Chou, † 🧎🏻, together with 五月天 阿信—were incredible performers. From our all-time favorites to each artist’s newer songs, every single moment was unforgettable. 🥰 The production was amazing, complete with synchronized light sticks and spectacular stage effects.

But the biggest highlight? Seeing them up close and even getting a few fist bumps from some of them! 🥹🥰 As my friend Arlene Luy-Young said—𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙩 𝙢𝙤 𝙠𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙬𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙖. 🤭

Thank you, F3 and Ashin, for giving me a memory I’ll treasure forever. 💗

Most of all— 고마워, 친구 for making this the best way to end my F4 birthday celebration. 🫶🏻

My A-I (ah-yi) celebrated her 70th recently and we decided to take her out for a good meal. She’s the type who’s fun to be with as she has zero qualms about anything. “Go with the flow” has been her mantra and the same goes with food. She’s always game and very appreciative when we bring her to try new restaurants.

Dinner at was indeed a good choice. Even if Mother’s Day is over, they still have their Mother’s Day set meal for the entire month of May and it was indeed a good deal as we tried the Classic Set for 4 (Php 4,000).

Let me show you what this set includes:

🥗 Refillable Banchan — no meal at any Korean restaurant will ever be complete or considered legit without some banchan. Sogeum’s selection was indeed impressive and it felt like it’s well-suited for royalty with two kinds of kimchi, mashed sweet potato, fishcake, egg omelette, fresh salad and peanuts/dilis. We have our own favorites from this selection.

🐷 Bossam — this was so good! Tender pork belly that’s boiled but still remained to be so flavorful. It’s served with kimchi radish, fresh lettuce, fresh garlic, fermented shrimp and dipping sauce. This is perfect for those who can’t take the heat. Even the kids enjoyed this.

🐮 Grilled Beef Bulgogi — Definitely one of the best in town! It has a delicious savory and smokey flavor. Yum!

🐖 Pork Samgyupsal — another elevated version of the famous pork samgyupsal as it was served with 3 types of salt — pink salt, green tea salt and classic sea salt.

🦐🦑 Seafood Pajeon — this is my Mom’s favorite and she was very pleased with this version. For me though, it was a bit on the greasy side and the batter was a bit too much that I barely could taste the seafood. Will probably skip this next time.

🍲 Sundubu Jjigae — I love having soup and this was a hearty soup option as it was loaded and I truly meant LOADED with clams, minced pork and tofu.

🥚 Gyranjjim Egg Casserole — last was the birthday girl’s favorite and it was indeed very comforting and yummy.

For a top-quality Korean restaurant, offers very reasonably priced dishes. We will be back! 👍🏻

Good morning! 🌞 My parents taught me that it’s important to start your day by having breakfast because it “breaks the fast” thus giving your body that much needed energy to go about your day. Lately, I’ve been enjoying a variety from homemade sourdough creations from . It started safely with their Signature which was good, had the perfect texture of soft and pillowy inside and a good crunchy bite on the outside. It paired well with a thin spread of butter or some fruit jams.

Then, I moved on to the Sesame which gave a nice nutty kick. Things started to get really interesting. I built my lunch sandwich with this piling each bread with a bed of arugula, a mixed of cold cuts (mushroom lyoner is my fave!), a drizzle of Japanese mayo and mustard plus a sprinkle of pepper on top. Yum! This sandwich creation truly made my day despite how busy it got.

I didn’t stopped there. I got even more creative with the Cheese Sourdough which the kids love. This can be enjoyed on its own or made into another hearty sandwich. We love toasted the bread before consuming and enjoyed the melted cheese bits. 🧀

Last was a surprise! I was never a fan of sweet bread but when your kitchen starts smelling like comforting dark chocolate as the toast bread warms up, it’s like receiving a tight hug before your start your day. I tried it with some cream cheese which was excellent but my choco-loving daughter loaded up her bread slice with more chocolate spread. 🍫

These are just some of ’s creations and she got more for you to discover and enjoy. I can’t wait to try her focaccia as well!

I normally shy away from sourdough as some gets too tough and dry. This one remained very soft even for days. I love how the flavor compliments it without being too overpowering. Each bread was clearly made with love. ❤️

I highly recommend for you to try and bring their bread creations into your breakfast table.

It was a delicious Sunday family lunch at as we tried their specially created masterpiece in collaboration with . Limited for a very short time and for only 40 orders in a day.

Here’s what we tried:

🐮 Beef Brisket & Tendon Egg Noodles with Calamansi Oil — an elevated version of the classic beef brisket and tendon noodle that we all grew up enjoying with a slight tangy hint from the calamansi oil. I love how tender the beef was and the noodles were so springy in every bite.

🐓 Salted Egg Chicken Wings with Dalandan Zest — my favorite! It was a treat for the senses. This makes a good starter, IMHO.

🧈 Brown Butter Capiz Scallops — speaking of starters, you just have to try this! Super yummy and juicy grilled scallops with brown butter that’s so perfect to scoop onto your rice.

🐑 Lamb Balsamico Adobo — one of ’s best-sellers and I totally understand why. Served in a classic palayok, you can taste the richness of the lamb adobo in every bite. I purposely saved my rice for this and there was no regrets at all. Yum!

Lechon — dining at on a Sunday is made extra special as you can enjoy their special Organic Negros Lechon by the grams. It’s roasted with a bottle Cerveza Negra and served with lechon sauce and this interesting citrus chutney that helps elevate the lechon’s flavor.

🥑 Avocado Tart — for dessert we had Avocado Tart which was delish! I love avocado and I love how the filling was so good. The crust also had a good texture and the sweetness level was so mild that it allowed the avocado to take centerstage as it should.

Glad to be able to enjoy such a good meal at and we were so lucky to throw the dice and get double digits so we all brought home complimentary cassava cakes too!
